Cheyenne Dunkley...

Post by Geoff »

... may be joining us according to the Oxford Mail. A central defender who this season has made 19 appearances for Kidderminster Harriers, scoring four times and being sent off once. In five of those 19 games Kiddy kept a clean sheet and they won seven.

Has anybody out there seen him play?

Don't know much about him but wouldn't this be a bit of a strange use of our transfer budget? Imo Jake Wright is our best player and Mullins isn't far behind, Raynes is good for a 3rd choice centre-back and Sam Long has looked good when he's played. Is someone on their way out the door?

Looks like he's a unit and is a real threat at set pieces apparently.

Yeah, an odd one. This smacks of a Wilder move - bringing in loanee after loanee for the sake of it. (And, yes, I realise he may be brilliant.)

Reading between the lines, it appears that this will be a loan deal which will turn permanent in January as Kiddy need the cash.

If so, must be the first time we've paid a transfer fee in a while?

Both Kiddiminster and Oxford websites state that the Dunkley deal has been completed, but bizzarrely oufc.co.uk states that Sam Long has gone the other way on loan, while harriers.co.uk has no mention of Sam Long.

Good to see big Dunks attacking the ball in our opponents
penalty area. We have not seen a United central defender
attacking crosses for some time. Mulls used to be a threat
I concede.

Not only is that a genius nickname, but you've also inadvertently discovered next season's away kit...
