THE RESULT TODAY AT ROCHDALE SHOWS YET AGAIN LEWIS IS NOT THE MAN TO MANAGE OXFORD UNITED.
IF WE ARE TO HAVE ANY HOPE OF A TOP THREE FINISH THIS SEASON THEN THE NEW MANAGER NEEDS TO BE IN CHARGE WITHIN THE NEXT TWO GAMES
THE NEW MANAGER ALSO NEEDS TO ADDRESS THE FACT THAT SOME OF THE SO CALLED BEST PLAYERS AT OXFORD UNITED ARE JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH AND ARE VASTLY OVER RATED. CONSTABLE SMALLEY WRIGHT AND POTTER SPRING TO MIND , THEY ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH . ITIS PLAIN FOR ALL TO SEE THAT IF WE DO GO UP THIS SEASON BETTER CLASS PLAYERS WILL BE NEEDED IF WE ARE TO GO UP AND STAY UP , THESE NEW PLAYER WILL COST MONEY AND ANYONE WHO THINKS OTHERWISE IS LIVING IN A DREAM WORLD. A NEW MANAGER WITH BETTER COACHING STAFF AND BETTER PLAYERS ARE LONG OVERDUE AT OXFORD UNITED . NOW IS THE TIME FOR THESE CHANGES TO BE MADE .

I actually tend to agree that we need to get this process properly under way now. The momentum is disappearing from our season.

I agree that ML is not producing the results we want, although in fairness he has improved our home form and lost some away form and unluckily at a time when we have had a high proportion of away games. IL's half way through answer isn't nearly good enough.

To slate the players that you have is bizarre. They are the best players at the club, Smalley excepted who I agree with you on. To recognise that new players will cost money, whilst we are losing significant money, means that you want the club to become even more financially insecure, a position that is completely untenable.

We all get reactionary when things don't go well, but a little more thought to identify a process that will work without bankrupting the club, and without removal of the best players at the club, is needed.

I'm also at a loss as to how you intend to buy the 'better' players that we 'need' to go up? Given that we've got no money and the transfer window is closed!

Couple of new names appearing this morning - Nicky Law (presumably the Alfreton Town manager, not his son!) at 5-1 with Stan James, and John Schofield (Gillingham Assistant) at 4-1 with BetVictor.

Since neither of these are part of the 'usual suspects' and probably represent the sort of applicant we might attract (League One assistant, Conference Premier high-fligher) then I reckon there are some leaks appearing in the recruitment process, so it could be worth keeping an eye on the markets over the next few days.

Neither would be a great appointment IMHO - Schofield did well with the youths at Lincoln and the Gills, but was hopeless as a first-team coach, and Law would just be Wilder Mk II

Not sure about the Schofield link, but the Nicky Law shift is on the back of a 'joke' tweet pretending to come from the OUFC twitter account which announced him as the new manager yesterday evening - there are some details on the other side in this thread from the other side - http://yellowsforum.co.uk/thread/16964/nicky-law - which either saw a pre-emptive move by the bookies, OR someone lumped in big on the back of the rumour (and is now feeling a little sorry for themselves today).

Actually having checked, cannot see Schofield on Oddschecker (BV & SJ both showing), the only movers apart from Law are Eric Black (BV) and Michael Appleton (SJ) .

A promotion and then stability in the league above? That's fine with me!
