Mickey Lewis - caretaker

Post by Kernow Yellow »

Like many of you, the prospect of Mad Dog taking over the reins doesn't fill me with unbridled hope, but I just checked out his record during his last stint as caretaker.

He came in after Malcolm Shotton had lost five straight games as manager, and proceeded to take Us on an eleven match unbeaten run (in Div 2, no less) - a sequence of games which included the fabulous 2-1 win at the Madejski and progression to the third round of the FA Cup culminating in a very creditable draw at Premiership Forest. Pretty impressive stuff.

However, we then lost 8 of our next eleven games, shipping goals like nobody's business, before Denis Smith came back.

I'd forgotten how long he was in charge to be honest.
