I feel sick for them. No football fan deserves this. Even the auditors are making it loud and clear. (Thank God he got laughed at out of Minchery when he came knocking).

Going Concern

At June 30, 2014, we had deficit accumulated of $11,924,623 and as noted throughout this report and our financial statements and notes thereto, our independent auditors have expressed their substantial doubt as to our ability to continue as a going concern as of June 30, 2014. We anticipate incurring significant losses in the future. We do not have an established source of revenue sufficient to cover our operating costs. Our ability to continue as a going concern is dependent upon our ability to successfully compete, operate profitably and/or raise additional capital through other means. If we are unable to reverse our losses, we will have to discontinue operations.

The financial statements included in this quarterly report have been prepared assuming that we will continue as a going concern, which contemplates the recoverability of assets and the satisfaction of liabilities in the normal course of business.

Management’s plans include the raising of capital through the equity markets to fund future operations, seeking additional acquisitions, and generating of revenue through our business. However, even if we do raise sufficient capital to support our operating expenses and generate adequate revenues, there can be no assurances that the revenue will be sufficient to enable us to develop business to a level where we will generate profits and positive cash flows from operations. These matters raise substantial doubt about our ability to continue as a going concern. These financial statements do not include any adjustments relating to the recoverability and classification of recorded asset amounts, or amounts and classification of liabilities that might result from this uncertainty.

I can't believe this kind of daylight robbery is tolerated in the English game. At one point it was just the big clubs like Leeds and Man U, now apparently anyone can buy the local Sunday league team for £1, sink it into tens of millions of debt, and pay themselves half of that debt.

Thinking about it, this is how the whole British economy is structured, so maybe it shouldn't be a surprise.

Edit - not saying OC is a sunday league team - in fact they're not far behind us now - just exaggerating for effect!

Did you not know that Circo and Goldman Sachs run our country now, thus making elections irrelevant? Perhaps you didn't get that memo :)

I've never heard of these awards so had a look on Wikipedia, a few interesting points are made there:

The charge to be considered for a Stevie in 2003 ranged from $200 to $400. As of 2014, entry fees range up to $505. There is an additional fee for attending the awards dinner.

Awards are judged each year by figures in business worldwide who participate in an evaluation process of nominees. Their recommendations for winners are announced at an annual ceremony held in New York City.

According to the organization, awards are given in hundreds of categories, and 30-40% of entrants receive an award

Applying for Stevie Awards has been recommended by multiple authors as an avenue for generating publicity and sales.

Make of that what you will.

The video is worth watching just to see the Oxford City club crest on the American news channel.

Hellfire. That is one seriously damning piece of journalism.

Albeit rather poorly researched:

"But according to reports from Oxford, Guerriero’s soccer team was “homeless” in 2013 with no place to practice, much less host games."

Um, really? Also using a July 26 (ie pre-season) game to highlight low attendances at City games.

But good that someone's digging where he's trying to extend his reach. A far cry from the unquestioning fawning shit the Mail came up with when he landed here.

Dan Robinson is an excellent investigative journalist at the Mail, so good to read he’s on the case. He’s also got another emerging high profile story in the background about Blenheim Palace. On both counts he knows what’s going on but is still digging and keeping his powder dry.

Try to keep up with local issues, Dan's been at it for a long time in my patch.

It's also very relevant to OUFC, as that site on the other side of Grenoble Road is getting closer and closer to approval due to the NPPF, and the opportunity it has given to venture capitalists who specialise in making money out of turning fields into housing.
