"The club said at the time it had no knowledge of Guerriero's business dealings in the United States. "

Well then they're pretty stupid, given that it was being pointed out to them on a regular basis.

It still seems bizarre that the Oxford Mail kept reporting the guff that TAG fed them. Also the relative silence on the Oxford City message board apart from a few people who have had their doubts from the start.

Interesting Radio Four documentary, which I caught by chance yesterday afternoon, about dodgy businesses who "use the reputation of English football to lend credibility to their activities":

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07cx2rt

At first it discusses cases involving Liverpool, Chelsea et al, but my attention picked up when they started talking about TAG and Oxford City. There are interviews with people TAG ripped off, plus one with OCFC chairman Brian Cox who does a rather bad job of trying to blame the FA for the lack of due diligence carried out. Indeed the programme implies that the FA should have done more to stop his involvement.

The TAG bit starts at about 28:40, though the few minutes before that are also relevant, and the whole programme is worth a listen...

Looks like (some part of) the Oxford City FC set up is facing a winding up order on Monday ...

https://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/court ... winding-up

Can anyone with a better understanding of these things than me say whether this is the real football club or one of The Yank's projects?

I was told last week by an impeccable source
that City are, sadly, in complete financial meltdown.

Touch and go whether the wages this month can be paid
so it would appear the winding up
applies to the playing entity i.e the football club.

Number 19 on that list is interesting.

London Welsh managed to slither off their hook with a last minute payment to HMCR.

James Roberts sent off for City last night for a bad tackle, apparently.

Still seems amazing he has allowed to get away with this for so long when it was obvious from the start of the type of individual he was.

City having to cut their playing budget as they seek to reduce debts. Frankly they've done well to survive the fallout from TAG's involvement at all. Not that the Fail is interested in reminding readers of the main cause of OCFC's difficulties...

Whilst we are talking City, what happened to the Oxford Football Partnership between Oxford United and Oxford City, which I think ended up being between Ensco (i.e. Eales's company) and City according to Companies House?

http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/sport/oxfor ... lace_Farm/

So does this mean OUFC no longer benefit? If they did at all in the first place?

I'd say OUFC never benefited in the first place, other than the income from the partnership going into the pockets of a common owner. Which is exactly the same situation as happened under a previous chairman where potential income streams for the club were hived off....

The previous owner didn't really invest much in the club though did he - hence the falling down divisions rather than going and then looking up before he sold up.

Personally I don't have a problem with Eales looking to get his investment back, it was his money that brought the likes of Roofe, Marv and Lego to the club. If he spent say £4m in the process of doing so, whats the problem with him looking to recoup that £4m when he leaves? I'm not aware that Eales is looking to take out more money than he put in - if thats the case Myles perhaps you can enlighten me?
