it appears that OU Ladies are one of 33 teams which have applied for the 20 places available in the new Womens Super League setup due kick off in 12 months time..with a second tier being added to the current 8 team Super League with clubs split either 10&amp10 or 8&amp12 accordingly. The national Premier League is then to be split into two regional divisions, which is probably where our ladies will move up to if their WSL Application is unsuccessful.

They have already beaten two of the current Premier League (ie. 2nd tier) teams in the FA cup and are drawn to play Super League Everton in the last 16 a week on Sunday.

Well, they've only gone and done it - leaping ahead of a dozen or more better established ladies sides in the process. The league is also a closed shop (at the moment) so from next summer they are guaranteed to be at the second level.

Seems with success for both ladies, youths and the Dev squad then Simon L must be doing something right!

That is a fantastic achievement, and can only reflect positively on the club as a whole. I really hope they go from strength to strength now.

April 30 (Plymouth Evening Herald, The) -- SOUTH WEST WOMEN'S COMBINATION LEAGUE Plymouth Argyle...0 Oxford United...3 ARGYLE were unable to stop Oxford United regaining second place in the table.
A young Argyle side found the going hard against their more experienced opponents, and fell behind in the eighth minute.
A minute later Emily Mousley rattled the visitors' crossbar with a powerful shot from the right side of the box. Chloe Bassett followed up but was unable to get a telling touch on the rebound.
With 16 minutes on the clock, Argyle's defence was caught out by a ball over the top, and the Oxford striker took her chance early, lobbing the advancing Michaela Phillips to make it 2-0. Argyle's hopes were raised eight minutes into the second half when Oxford were reduced to 10 players when Mousley had her shot handled at the near post by an outfield player.
However, the 'keeper saved Rebekah Rose's spot kick.
Oxford then increased their lead with a fine finish into the corner, and although Argyle had more of the play in the final quarter, they were unable to find the net.

Agree Jon. Whist there has been a lot of criticsm of the club, there seems to be a lot of work happening behind the scenes and the less visible part of the club.

Good news all round. I wonder whether the club should try and build up one game a season for both the Youth and the ladies as special days played at the kassam in order to try and build the profile and rasie some revenue for these 2 parts of the club?
