Not the departure the North East necessarily expected, but it moves Appleton up to 78th

You have to feel for the poor lamb after the Beeb titled the link to this story "McKinley ready after 10-year wait" just six days ago: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29441974

The merry go round ? More like the Hadron Collider.
God knows how much money is wasted on pay-offs these days. Just crazy.

By the way no one at the Oxvox members meeting on Saturday seemed to know how long Mr Appleton's contract was.

Is it two years?

So Nigel Worthington has now chosen to fall on his sword. What will be the fall out after this Saturday's game at the Kassam?!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29596336 - Worthington
meanwhile Lennon arrives at Bolton: - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29589068
and as expected, Robins starts at Scunnie today as well: - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29596845

Appleton cannot afford to resign - if he does he's finished in management. His only hope is to hang in there and for it all to come good in time.....question is more how much time will Ashton and Eales give their man - I'm sure their instinct will be to let him have a season and some in order to get his system working, but will they bite the bullet if this slump goes on too long?

Anyway, for now Appleton is 76th, higher than Waddock reached....

Tranmere Rovers have sacked Rob Edwards.

http://mobile.tranmererovers.co.uk/news ... 14008.aspx

If you change the name 'Rob Edwards' for 'Michael Appleton' in the first few paragraphs you could have a ready made speech for Mark Ashton should we choose to part company with our Head Coach....

It will be interesting to see who York and Tranmere appoint next. And how long they take to decide. What are the odds on Appleton going before Saturday? And if we lose to Tranmere, how the odds will change over the weekend!

About 100/1 against I suspect. It's a project and all you have to do is remain positive.......hmm.

Is the Mark Palios quoted in the article the ex-FA Chief?

Yes - he took over a few weeks ago from some guy who'd owned it for 30-odd years. He played 280 times for them too, apparently: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... t-tranmere

I wonder when our league position will be higher than MA's position? Not this season I fancy.
