Full house for just four days...
3 Dec - Leonid Slutsky goes at Hull (16) ....
7 Dec - ....to be replaced by Nigel Adkins
After which we full house last for nearly a fortnight, before the Eberneezer Chairmen strike:
20 Dec - Paul Clement sacked at Swansea (17, P6)
23/24 Dec - Both Garry Monk at Middlesboro (18) and Carlos Carvalhal at Wednesday (19) sacked after playing each other..(Carvalhal leaving from 20th in the list after clocking up exactly two and a half years in charge)
26 Dec - Boro fans get to debate the arrival of Tony Pulis over the Boxing Day leftovers
28 Dec - then Swansea fans get to debate the arrival of Carvalhal, just sacked at a club a division below them (for now)..
31 Dec - the last casualty of 2017 is Mark Warburton at Forest (20th of the season)
5 Jan - Bundesliga regular Jos Luhukay takes the reigns at Wednesday - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42586860
6 Jan - Mark Hughes becomes the first casualty of 2018, as he departs Stoke following defeat in the FA Cup..... (Hughes leaves after more than four and a half years at Stoke, having made it up to 11th on the current list)

Currently 54 managers on the list have been in place for more than a year, while Pep Clotet currently resides in 71st.

All calm for a couple of weeks then it all kicks off in Yorkshire:

Nov 7th - Michael Appleton takes over at Blackpool leaving the sinking ship at Pompey without a captain.

BTW - when I checked the other day former U's man Lee Bradbury was the favourite to take over (despite only just taking the helm at Havant &amp Waterlooville).
BTW2 - Di Canio (along with Redknapp and Benitez) among favourites for both QPR or Soton should either sack their current incumbents....
BTW3 Alex McLeish has announced he is ready to return to club management, so expect no new vacancies to appear for a while, just in case...
A momentous day for this thread as the man at the top of the long standing ratings finally announces his departure. Someone born when he took over would have started university by now.

Was also interested to see one of the very first entries on this thread.

Latest Catch-up:

Perhaps the most eyecatching activity since my last effort are two announcements that are yet to actually happen:
on 18th April - Fleetwood announced the john Sheridan would be replaced by none other than Joey Barton on 2 June - a day after his suspension from all football related activities ends
and on 20th April - the last of the top flight dynasties - that of Arsene Wengers near 22 year reign at Arsenal - was announced to be coming to an end come the end of this season....

Meanwhile, back in normal land the more mundane comings and goings continued:
2 Mar - Michael Jolley appointed at Grimsby
3 Mar - Cotterill (36) sacked by Birmingham ....
4 Mar - to be replaced by Garry Monk
12 Mar - Jon Whitney (37) sacked by Walsall (35th on list)
12 Mar - Phil Brown takes over in Wiltshrie
12 Mar - Pelligrino (38, P9) sacked by Soton (57th on list) (1st PRem departure for two whole months!)
14 Mar - ... to be replaced by SParky hughes
16 Mar - Dean Keates leaves Wrexham to take over at Walsall
18 MAr - Darren Saarl (39) sacked by Stevenage (30th on list)
19 MAr - Westley (40) sacked by Barnet having been appointed just a week before Clotet was sacked...
19 MAr - ... to be repalced by Martin Allen
20 Mar - Dino Maamria takes over at Stevenage
21 Mar - Jaap Stam (41) sacked by Reading (36th on list)
22 Mar - Karl Robinson (42) resigns from Charlton (42nd on list) .....
22 Mar - ....to TAKE OVER AT OUFC
23 Mar - Paul Clement takes over at REading
24 MAr - GRaham Alexander (43) sacked by Scunthorpe (28th on list after 2yrs and 2days in the job)
2 APr - ALan Pardew (44, P10) sacked by West Brom
2 Apr - Hasselbaink (45) sacked by Noton
10 April - Mick McCarthy (46) calls it a day at Ipswich (from 8th on the list)
22 Apr - Dan Micciche (47) sacked by MK Dons
23 Apr - Jack Lester (48) sacked by Chesterfield

For the record, once Wenger finally leaves, there will be just two managers left who were already in situ when this thread first began:

Paul Tisdale (Exeter) - 11 years+ (26 June 2006) & Jim Bentley (Morecambe) - almost 7 years (13 May 2011)

with an eye-opening 3rd place on the list going to:
Gareth Ainsworth (Wycombe) - 5 years+ (c/t from 26 Sept 2012, perm 8 Nov)

with Neil Ardley (AFCW), Eddie Howe, Sean Dyche and Keith Hill (Rochdale) the only others to last 5 years,
Darryl Clarke (Bristol Rovers) the only extra to last 4 years
and just 6 more to make it past 3 years.

Interestingly, the list raises the Rooney Rule discussion again as while Keith Curle and Chris Hughton are both in the 3 year+ group, the next black manager on the list is Chris Powell at Southend who has been in place for a whole 90 days.

OK, Kiss of Death strikes again

26 Apr- two days after my last post Carlisle announce that Keith Curle (49) will be leavign at the end of the season from 13th on list
29 Apr - Stuart Donald first task at Sunderland is sacking Chris coleman (50) from 57th on the list, after less than 6 months at the club
1 May - GRaham Murty leaves Rangers
2 May - Caretaker Joe Dunne confirmed as permanent boss at Cambridge
2 May - Sam Ricketts moved into management at Wrexham
4 May - Steven Gerrard takes reigns at Rangers - discuss (er, actually don't!)
6 May - Jose Morais (51) sacked by Barnsley after only having joined in February
8 May - same fate befalls Simon Grayson (52) at Bradford, again after only joining in February
10 May - temp manager Martin Allen leaves BArnet for the 5th time.
10 May - Ian Holloway (53) sacked by QPR from 37th on the list
10 May - temp manager Ryan Lowe also stands down at Bury
12 May - another caretaker takes a role full time - this time Dean Austin at Noton

Number of permanent managers leaving this season smashes through the 50 mark, how many more before the dust settles on another mad season?

Busy few days ahead - yesterday SKy were saying that up to half of this season's Prem managers could leave this summer - Wenger, Moyes, Sam, Conte, Carvahal, Puel, Poch, Moore, Rafa, Hughes ... maybe others - we shall see:

Anyway, the dominoes are beginning to topple:
13 May - Wenger leaves Arsenal (54 P11, Prem Summer 1) ...
16 May - Allardyce sacked by Everton (55 , P12, PS2) ...
16 May - Moyes leaves West Ham (56, P13, PS3 ) ...

In other news, new #2 on the longstay list - Jim Bentley at Morecambe, is seen as favourite to take the Carlisle job, after 7 years in the role.
Chris Hughton bucks the trend and signs a new deal at Brighton

18 May (continued) - Uncle Darren gets the official nod at West Brom

22 May - Manuel Pellegrini appointed on an alleged £7m/yr contract to manage West Ham
22 May - Gary Rowett leaves Derby (59) ....
22 May - to take the reigns at Stoke
23 May - Unai Emery appointed on an alleged less than £7m/yr contract to manage Arsenal

Ones to watch - Scottish Championship title winners St Mirren are set to lose boss Jack Ross to Stuart Donald's Sunderland....
..Frank Lampard also heavily linked to the Ipswich vacancy

Chris Wilder however has signed another year extension to his contract at Sheff Utd, keeping him there until 2021...

On another point - both sides relegated from League Two sacked their managers, with Martin Allen switching from Barnet to Chesterfield and John Still taking over at Barnet.
Managers of the two sides coming up are Mickey Mellon at Tranmere (apptd 6 Oct 16) which will put him 36th in the list and John Askey at Macclesfield who will be celebrating five years in charge in the next couple of weeks having been appointed on 4th June 2013, which will move him straight into 8th on the list.
