This chap has suddenly leaped to the top of the list for the Watford job : http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/foot ... 10499.html.
Not sure it sounds as much of a done deal as the bookies do , so if you fancy a pop elsewhere di Matteo is 2nd favourite at 10s, Rolando Maran & Steve Clarke at 16s, with holloway, clement and guidolin at 20s, 33/1 Bar

Press Conference shortly to announce that Danny Wilson is to take over at Barnsley...http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk//news/artic ... 41336.aspx

Sherwood is being given a chance to stake a claim at Spurs, as he is apparently well thought-of internally there. Hoddle/Laudrup wait in the wings.
Zola, Mackay, Jol and Solskjaer still head the list at West Brom
Ole tops the list to replace Mackay if/when he leaves Cardiff, Dave Jones is second, with Bellamy in the running too.

Not on any betting list I have seen for the Spurs job, but there are one or two rumours about this guy:

Watford move quickly to replace Gianfranco Zola.

The Hornets appoint another Italian (surprise, surprise) Giuseppe Sannino

Looks like we've found ourselves another nutter chairman in the Premier League:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25457024

could be a very interesting search for a new man who'll dare take it.......

Solskjaer is favourite, but may reconsider after this, so my bet is either an old name who'll take anything for one last job (eg. Sven) or thinking more laterally, either another one of his son's mates; his son; a manager currently in the Thai top flight; or a former Thai national team manager ( a list which includes Peter Reid, Bryan Robson and Peter Withe )

If/when he goes, expect Mckay to feature large on West Brom's radar

However if life is miserable in the Boothroyd household, things are a little brighter at chez-Sherwood

I obviously don't really care but that really is a very cheap option for Spurs. Presumably they're trying to re-coup some of the compo cash they've laid out on managers in recent seasons but in the multi-million pound world of the Premiership and potential Champions League appointing an inexperienced coach from within without a selection process could be an even more expensive mistake (fingers crossed!).

On the other hand it is good that another young British coach is geting a chance in the top flight.

If it does not work out for them, they could go for Klinsman after the World Cup.

The on/off saga has finished at last. And a RO exclusive is enclosed by means of a picture of the new Cardiff Manager that Vincent Tan has chosen.

...and let us not forget that Millwall sacked Steve Lomas on Boxing Day (normally the day Kassam sacks me in Championship Manager) but that Scunnie have confirmed that Russ Wilcox has been given the post on a permanent basis.

Latest odds:
Cardiff: Ole top from Sven, but after that Tan cannot be accused of going for the Usual Suspects with the following next in the list:
- Yilmaz Vural (a 60 year old Turk who has managed 23 teams between 1986 and earlier this year - though not the big ones)
- Robert Jarni (45 year old former Croatian international (91 caps) - has managed Hadjuk split, currently boss at Sarajevo)
- Marcelo Bielsa (58 year old Argentinian nicknamed 'El Loco' - spent 6 years managing his national side, and a further four with Chile where he was a cult hero, left Bilbao in the summer)
- FRancesco Guidolin (58 year old Italian, has managed in Italy since 1988, currently doing very well with Udinese)
- Murat yakin (39 year old Swiss-Turk, currently boss at Basle in Switzerland)
- LimTeong Kim (50 year old Malaysian, whose only managerial experience is with the Bayern Munich U19s. Currently back in Malaysia as the project Director of the National Football Development Programme, so expect lots of young Malaysians to be signed if he joins)
Best placed Brits on the list are Dave Jones at 25s and Craig Bellamy at 33s....not surprising as I would expect no-one currently in England (bar those with a strong connection to the club) to even look at it for a minute...

Millwall: Neil Harris always tops this list, with Warnock strengthening in 2nd. Cooper, Zola, Megson and Wise next up.
Northampton: Chrissy Hargreaves at evens at the moment, from Kevin wilkin, caretaker Andy King and Martin Allen.
Sheff Weds: Caretaker Stuart Gray and Ian holloway lead the way at 2s, with an interesting bunch including Pearce, Evans, Ince, di Canio and McLeish next up - mm, lucky them!
WBA: Mackay goes straight in to top the list, from Jose Luis Mendilibar (52 year old Spaniard, doing a decent job getting and keeping Valladolid into the top flight, recently sacked by Osasuna) and Solskjaer next up, with caretaker Keith downing still in with a shout.

You just need to put in the cheat code of ‘I can make you famous’ to stop the latter happening.

So, Ole has taken a gamble on Cardiff, hope he doesnt get stung..

Mackay straight to the top of the list at West Brom, from Mendilibar(?) & Nigel Adkins at 4-5s, and caretaker Keith downing at 10s
Millwall - Dave Jones and Holloway at 3s, Marc Bircham at 6s, Dowie and local legend Neil Harris at 8s, Edinburgh at 10s
Sheef W - caretaker Stuart Gray looking set to get this permanently, with only Holloway (4s) and Ince (6s) listed ahead of the 25/1 Bar
Noton - Dowie (2s) Hargreaves and Laws (3s) head this one, interesting to note that former U Darren Purse is at 14s
Torquay - Hargreaves odds on here, from Sturrock (2s), Nicholson (8s) and a group including Buckle/Allen/Ling and trollope around 14s. Wonder whether CH with Sturrock as a #2 may be how
this one turns out?

Wonder whether the transfer window now being open will push any other Boards into action, especially those on the receiving end of any upsets today....?
