Alex Fisher returns to English football.....

...I've kept an eye on him since he left the club and have long felt he was the one we let get away...mainly because of his attitude. He hasn't just settled for life in the Hellenic League as so many others have done but has kept pluggin away at a career even when that has taken him abroad to find a pro deal.
A number of years in belgium and to Italy last year, and of course the Hoddle Academy in spain before that, so I really hope he makes a go of it in this country - he deserves it!!!

Former U's striker Matt Taylor and midfielder Josh Payne

This is probably unfair of me but I got the impression that his european 'career' was largely subsidised by his wealthy family. I guess we'll find out if he is good enough for anything higher than Southern League next season.

Former U's loanee 'keeper Schwan Jalal has signed for Bury.

The Shakers have signed some decent players this summer:
Ryan Lowe (Tranmere), Nicky Adams (Crawley), Chris Hussey (Burton) and now Jalal.

They are also spending £150k on a total pitch rebuild and have plans
for a new training complex and a development of the main stand at Gigg Lane.
Where has all the money come from?
