Is was tweeted last night that Ryan has saved 11 of 14 penalties he has faced while since joining us. If anyone is at a loose end, could they provide a breakdown of matches and how many points he has gained for us?

And does anyone know if they were all saved, or were some missed?

Thanks in advance :-)

Sad statto here who has worked out the facts for ya! Hopefully they are correct.

&quotIn his 126 appearances for Oxford, Clarke has faced 13 penalties. These have come against Wimbledon, Kidderminster, Barrow, two against Chelmsford, Stevenage, Eastbourne, Bradford (twice taken but I'm only counting it as one for the stats), Cheltenham, Port Vale on two separate occasions, Burton, Plymouth and Northampton. He has saved 6 of those, failed to save 6 and 1 was missed (Chelmsford).

All in all, having a percentage of penalties saved at over 50 per cent is pretty good!&quot

since then is it just the one last night? (Or was there another in between)
so faced 14, saved 7, conceded 6, 1 missed?

Oxford Mail says he has saved 10 from 15.

The ever-reliable Guardian today refers to Clarke saving 11 of his last 14.

So that's cleared that one up.

Though the OM does say has &quotonly let in 5 from 15&quot rather that saved them all.

You could also add to that list above the Man U game against their youth team in a friendly - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElANxKSnFUE

Looking up the matches mentioned, I reckon he has faced 14 penalties. He has saved five, conceded eight, and had one missed. Of those conceded, one was on the rebound, and one was retaken.

I don't remember two at Chelmsford, I thought it was Constable who missed one at the end of the game.

There was one at the end of the Port Vale game on October 29 2011 which you've missed out. I remember it becuase I sent my mate Gareth down to the concourse as he's a bad omen for this sort of thing!!

Edit - Confirmed from official match report - http://www.oufc.co.uk/page/MatchReport/ ... 00,00.html

2nd Edit - I'm confused that you say you don't remember the two at Chelmsford but have actually included them in your list?!

3rd Edit - I would suggest that the one conceded on the rebound is a penalty save. The rebound is in open play.

I've updated with the Vale save and one at Kettering too, and called the other Port Vale in on the rebound a save.
In Ryan Clarke's first team competitive matches for Oxford United, he has faced 17 penalties. He has saved eight (with one scored on the rebound vs Port Vale), conceded eight, and had one missed at Chelmsford. Of those conceded, one at Bradford was was retaken, and the original save not counted.
updated
any other penalties to include (apart from the friendlies)?
also checking the Rageonline Chelmsford match report, there were indeed two pens for Chelmsford that day.

Interesting that the reported 11 from 14 has now become fact, to be requoted by the Guardian, and Oxford fans on twitter and facebook. Still, why let the truth get in the way?

Jerome also mentioned the 11 of 14 stat on the radio but I wonder if he got that from the tweet.

So, looking at your stats Slappy, we are currently at 8 from 17? Now less than 50% although still an incredibly decent record....
