Woah, don't assume that it's just kids that go around shouting Wilder out because they're impatient etc. I've been backing Wilder to the hills on here and on Bbc Oxford and I'm 16, whereas when we've been on a really bad run (ie the one of Autumn/Winter last year) my Dad, who's 50 hasn't been so sure.
Yeah, but there's a difference between being privately 'not sure' and very publicly setting up facebook groups and starting shouty topics on forums. I reckon it's mainly kids that do the latter. And when I say kids I don't necessarily mean schoolkids, I just mean younger fans who haven't experienced the hell of watching a really shit Oxford team for years on end and are used to arguing with people from behind their keyboards without much thought.
I actually feel that younger fans tend to be more enthusiastic and optimistic. It usually takes a few years to become embittered!

The flipside of this is actually quite a worrying trend.

We have a 7 - 1 - 1 record and would be top in the first half of games

But a 1 - 4 - 4 record and would be 22nd in the second half of games.

But we all know we sit on a lead, really wish we would push on and go after teams we have the beating of

Ditto, and for many years now I’ve been tempted to put my t-shirt in a charity shop bag. The thing is, we’re still in Division IV after all these years of hurt.

A weird FA Cup draw as Chris Wilder canÔÇÖt lose. Also strange that Oxford City have more chance of progressing to the next round than Us (according to the bookies).

I think there may be a subtle but important sense in which CW is spoilt, in that he knows he can afford to make some mistakes. Spending extra cash, in any business, looks easy but actually requires the same ruthlessness as making savings.

However, looking at the Wembley 14, we have retained Clarke, Batt, Wright, Constable and Potter. Potter is a player with whom CW has shown patience, interestingly. Special circumstances apply to Adam Chapman, Tonkin is still at the club, and so we are not so far from the Stevenage '8'.

Personally, I think there is no case for having retained Creighton, Day, Midson or Green. Leven does seem to offer more than Simon Clist, although I think the latter has been harshly dealt with. This leaves Bulman and Deering...
Talking of Stevenage, they face Danny Wilson's Sheffield United this Saturday at the Lamex.

I wonder if they will beat up the Blades before we play them in the cup.
