Squad for new season

Post by Mooro »

By my reckoning the squad currently is:

GK - Clarke
RB - Whing, Batt, (Purkiss)
LB - Capaldi, Tonkin (Kinniburgh)
CB - Duberry, Wright, Worley, James
M - Mclaren, Heslop, Hall, Payne (Clist)
WS - Potter, Pitman, (Green)
FW - Constable, Craddock, Smalley, Woodley

plus Y - Marsh, Bryan &amp Others

Assuming I've not forgotten anyone, then aside from a reserve keeper, I wonder whether Wilder is actually seeking anyone else?

Given the above squad, presumably we'll be playing with Whing-Batts next season.

I'll get me coat.

I thought James was a right back? If so, then we could do with one more centre-half (maybe a youngish one), and, presuming all of the bracketed players leave, another winger and centre mid.

Adam Chapman could be back around Chrsitmas?

The other position could be a left sided midfield player?

As others have commented, the midfield currently is much more perspiration that inspiration - unless Payne discovers some of his early form, I think we need an imaginative, wily creator of chances.

If the club really do want to develop a serious cross-Atlantic symbiotic relationship with Seacoast United then I donÔÇÖt see what harm it would do to take on one or two of their more talented players, either at Youth or professional level. I certainly would not be surprised to learn of that after the pre-season tour next month.

I've just read a rumour that Purkiss is going to Lincoln.

He is not fit. No great loss.

Now the same website is suggesting that Simon Clist might be on his way to Forest Green Rovers.

Well we need another centre mid if we're gonna play with 3, and another gk. After that i thing we're ok, taking into account the emergency loan system and the youth system, and the flexibility of lots of our players.

Pretty clear there's no way back for the transfer listed ones, as they weren't at the open day.

Close Season really does get quite boring when your manager has made nearly all of his signings in the first couple of weeks........

Wonder who is travelling to the States as back-up goalie?

Anyone know who the youth team keeper is going to be this season now that Nathan Silver has left (is Crocombe still here?)
