United 2 Town 0
Constable, Craddock

UE: Under pressure from the visiting chairman, the referee insists all players must wear boots they've made themselves. Creighton breaks all his other toes due to his slippers...

UE: there's a minute's silence before the game in memory of Ari Upp. Pre-match music is exclusively by the Slits. Creighton breaks down sobbing in the centre circle as Typical Girls comes over the PA. James Constable and Matt Green share a passionate moment to the sounds of Animal Space. The whole of the East Stand joins in with Heard it on the Grapevine.

UE2: My course leader decides that attending the game at the Kas is a more worthwhile exercise than anything that he had planned that afternoon, so I get to the game.

Wilder makes sharp incisive substitutions and second half tactical changes which alter the course of the match (oh, don't be silly Colin). The Cobblers' equaliser promotes an orgy of savagery as the surrounding estates burn and infants are put to the sword. Creighton wonders What is that sound high in the air, murmur of maternal lamentation, who are those hooded hordes swarming over endless plains, stumbling in cracked earth? In the distance, a small dark-haired creature with red boots on his furry feet walks on, seeking the one contract that binds him.
