Will it be Rushden, will it be York

Post by GodalmingYellow »

York's final game is away to Stevenage, which I can see ending in a tame draw.

Luton are away to Rushden, for which a draw also looks likely.

We are home to Wrexham, which we will win, and away to Eastbourne, which we will win.

So the final table will be

S 93
O 89
L 88
R 79
Y 79

Meaning an away first leg to York, which from a travelling perspective, I don't fancy much. Rushden away would be much easier.

So either we need to drop points, or York need to get a better points margin that Rushden on Saturday.

I imagine that the former scenario is more likely, especially with Eastbourne needing a win to ensure safety. I would also prefer to play Rushden, partly because I think we're more likely to get past them, but mainly because it's unlikely I'd be able to get up to York on the Thursday unless Ali agrees to leave work early, which is highly unlikely.

It begs the question, why not play the semis on the Saturday and Monday?

Go and suggest that to Wilder. We'll all chip in for the hospital bill, honest.

Saturday afternoon is only a few hours after the originally planned date for the fixture. Playing 2 games in 2 days is hardly unusual over bank holiday weekends.

2 North stand blocks of seats = approx 1300

2 blocks for segregation (1 whole block plus 2 halves for netting) = 1300

That leaves approx 10,000 for home fans. Sounds about right.
