Re: Fishy Gills
Unbelievable stuff. I thought we started ok against a 'difficult' opposition, and for the first half hour it looked like being a tight game with one goal likely to settle it. But once we conceded out heads went, we went into our shells and got very sloppy. The second goal became inevitable, as was t...

Re: Cutting Crewe
I thought Sykes had a great game. Yes, he should have scored (could have taken an extra touch I think), but few of our players would have had the footwork to make that chance in the first place - and again for the penalty. Lee has slightly disappointed me overall - there's clearly a very good player...

Re: Season Over?
Let's face it, there have only been a handful of games this season where we've looked properly good for a whole match. If we manage to get our noses ahead against a poor team we can go on and dominate them. But we seem to lack belief at the start of games, and our play is too laboured and predictabl...

The Imp-ortance of being positive
That was more like it. After a horror start, where Lincoln showed Us how to play out calmly from the back and have the ball in the back of the net within about 10 seconds, we played pretty well. I'd still like us to be a bit more instinctive going forwards - Stevens' booking came from Shodipo turnin...

Re: Where are they now?
Isaac Buckley Rickets (12 appearances on loan from Man City in the 2017-18 season) is playing for a fan TV team run by 'a prominent Man Utd YouTube personality'(!) in the 14th tier:

Re: Cobblers
Yes we looked better when CamBran sat deeper, but all he did then was play long balls on to the heads of Northampton defenders, rather than back to a central defender as Gorrin does. It's hardly playing to our strengths. I also thought it reminded me of the Conference days, but with more free-kicks....
Cobblers
Anyone still feeling confident after our last two performances? Blackpool were a good team, as evidenced by their result against Posh yesterday. But last night was just a horrible game of football to watch. Where has our midfield gone? It didn't matter which forwards were on the pitch, we just could...

Re: Indonesians taking control.
What is not clear (apart from everything) is who is seeking to take control from whom. Is Thohir allowed back on the board now, or does his political position in Indonesia still prevent that? Or is it Bakrie that wants to increase his interest? And will the Empire Asia people still be involved, or i...

Re: Shaking the ketchup bottle
It's often said that a striker just needs a goal to go in off his arse to get going again, and while that didn't quite happen last night, there was some definite good fortune in both of Taylor's goals yesterday. For the rest of the game, the ketchup bottle remained half shaken really, as some really...

Re: Them 1 - 2 Us
Hugely important result. But I felt more relief than exhilaration at the final whistle - twice it looked like the game might go the way of the home fixture (throwing away total first half domination), but we held on for a now customary 2-1 win at the C*unty Gr*und. Who'd have thought we'd ever say t...

Re: Suffolking improvement?
Thought it might be worth dragging up this thread for today’s return match at Portman Road, to see how far we’ve come in the interim. The matches were startlingly similar, albeit today’s more nerve-racking than snooze-inducing. What a terrible football match though! Ipswich constantly giving Us the ...

Re: What a difference a day makes
Yep, that was an extraordinary game on Sunday, and one which we did very well to get three points out of, given everything that went on. Once we got the first team on (and Kelly off) we were clearly the better team. However, our last three games (including last night's PJT shambles) have not been ov...

Think he's the one - interesting recent history though based on the below from Wikipedia. Chairmanship of PFA Purkiss was elected as chairman of the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) in November 2017, succeeding Ritchie Humphreys, after a five-year spell on the management committe...

Re: Salary Cap Withdrawn
No idea. But the situation was clearly ridiculous - Sunderland only being allowed to spend the same amount as Accrington despite getting ten times as many fans through the turnstiles. As for Dale Vince's complaints, surely no-one is forcing him to spend more money now? Can't clubs be responsible for...

Re: Don & Dusted
Great finishes from the new boys last night, and it's better to win a scrappy game than not win it. My god was that scrappy though. For once, it was our quality finishing that made the difference, as we buried two of our three great chances, while Rovers missed all of theirs. I'm glad our new loan s...
