Re: Which would you choose?

Unfortunately, it does not recognise the practical realities of the cost and infrastructure required to own and run a stadium. And this is why I think the KasStad is a dead duck in terms or providing a sustainable future for OUFC. If someone somehow managed to take control of the stadium, it simply...

Re: Which would you choose?

With respect, Myles, I think that's an argument against reckless unsustainable borrowing rather than owning our own ground! Fair point. I'm just conscious that many clubs who have got into financial difficulty are those who own their own ground as having that asset to draw on allows transient chair...

Re: Which would you choose?

Without Oxford United owning its own stadium, I don't see how we can ever become a sustainable club again. I fundamentally disagree with this. I'm actually now more opposed to the club owning it's own ground than not. The caveat being that the ownership of the stadium should be in the hands of a tr...

Re: Which would you choose?

Not the best of choices, obvs! But, for me, I think it's a case of better the devil you know. One of Kassam's issues has been the lack of corporate memory on the part of the club. He has had a succession of owners come to him making the same (in his eyes) derisory offer for the stadium, failing to u...

Re: Robinson Out

I'm finding it very difficult to see any justification for Robinson keeping his job. Not wishing to be an apologist for what has been a terrible season on the field, I do have a hefty chunk of sympathy for Robinson and the environment he has to work in. He has an absentee chairman, an MD with minim...

Re: Sunderland

Anyway, onto far more important footballing matters. While enjoying Salut Sunderland's pre-match interview with a random Oxford fan , I can't help wondering why the various RO forum members in the accompanying photo appear to be at the wrong end of Wembley Stadium! Said collective was in a box whic...

I guess the question must then be raised of whether the negligence is on the part of the manager, the owner, or both!

Re: You're winding me up!

Concerning language used this morning by Niall M - 'there may be some bumps in the road ahead'. Could mean a number of things but hardly reassuring given recent financial issues........ I think the worst comment, in relation to potential financial difficulties, was “But we will deal with them as we...

Re: Robinson Out

Tiger will do nothing about the mangerial position unfortunately. It was only ten days ago that I thought we could have a run at the play-offs if we had a good Christmas set of results........ Tiger is utterly deluded about our current situation. On Friday (before the Southend result) he was talkin...

Re: Oxford Cty

Eales I supposed could have kept the existing situation as a small earner, but perhaps he decided being paid back the investment was financially better, fairer to City, or he needed a clean break from Oxford. I suspect that it's the latter. The Companies House records show that the ties were severe...

Re: Robinson Out

I suspect Tiger isn't as wealthy as was originally made out. I have absolutely no doubt about that. One of the concerns I have at the moment is the announcement of Zaki Nuseibeh coming on board as a director. It was his firm who loaned Reading $25m whilst Tiger and Co were there, and on his RadOx i...
