Re: Robinson Out

Unequivocally, he has to go. That’s a relegation team if ever I saw one. Completely unacceptable performance. No fight, no teamwork. And the fact Robbo and the coaches went straight down the tunnel while sending the players to face the ire of the fans. Just go now. I did not buy an i follow matchda...

Re: Rocharolla

I’ve noticed that Hanson looks particularly strong in the air which is a big plus.

He hasn’t looked out of place at fullback. Agree that Browne monstered Dale’s back three
and looked a big threat all game.

We’ve done well to amass 21 points considering where we were six weeks ago.

Agreed - just wish he would display a calmer head for the U’s on a more consistent basis.Likes snapping into tackles but prone to giving away free-kicks.
Maybe the penny is dropping.

Re: Gilly golly gosh

Why would anyone pay money for Nelson in Jan when they can get him for free in the summer? Is he going to transform any of those teams in the second half of the season? On today’s showing I’d say no. Sorry, but today was rubbish. Of course the three points were important but if that’s what passes f...

You care enough to keep posting about it every season, though.

Calling those OUFC supporters scabs for attending the game is pretty disgraceful imho.

Re: Argyle

Seriously, how big is Saturday’s match versus Plymouth? Remember that home match v Tranmere in October 2014 under Appleton?

And that was at the foot of L2.

Re: New signings

This Sam Smith deal seems to be dragging on and on. As I understand it, Reading are (quite sensibly) waiting to confirm the signing of Sam Baldock before letting Sam Smith come to us. Yeah I get that, it's just a shame not to have players here for a bit of pre-season. Especially ones without much m...

Re: New signings

We look to be developing a decent and purposeful squad and today we are being linked with Ricky Holmes and Jem Karacan (yes please). Two quality players. West Ham youngster Marcus Browne also linked. Robinson also wants a big, box to box central midfielder too! Reading FC’s highly rated striker Sam ...

Re: New signings

More good work.

United capture experienced right back Tony McMahon after he left Bradford City in May.
McMahon has penned a two year contract. He has previously played for Middlesbrough,
Blackpool, Sheff Utd and Bradford City.

Re: On This Day.

On this day - 2nd May 1988 - United hosted its last ever top flight match at the Manor Ground. United (already relegated) under the management of Mark Lawrenson, lost 0-2 to Ron Atkinson’s second placed team. The reds netted twice in the first half through Viv Anderson and Gordon Strachan. Just 8,96...

Re: Thank goodness that's all over

We need to hold on to Rothwell, Kane, Ledson and Hall, to name just 4, but certainly get rid of as much deadwood as possible. This has been the first season for years where I've only been to one game; Blackburn next Sat! Sounds like I've not missed much? Does that mean you haven’t put any money int...

Re: Rochdale

I couldn't watch it - was fairly sure it was gonna go over the bar! Is that because you tend not to watch any Oxford spotkicks or was it because Mousinho was spotting the ball up ? Penalties this season: Marvin Johnson vs Cheltenham (League Cup) SAVED (but followed up the rebound to score). Ryan Le...

Re: Going Down??

I also remember buying a season ticket towards the start of the 2000-2001 - the last of course at the Manor -
and being told by the guy showing me seats in the Beech Road that we had sold only 2,100 season tickets !
