10th, which I've always felt is our expected rightful place, to oscillate around.
In fact, our average all time league position is 54th which would back up that assumption.

Re: O'Dowda
Fair point KY. I guess the risk of staying outweighed the opportunity it offered. On balance, clinically, maybe he's done the right thing. However, who would want to leave their boyhood club in this manner. One would hope that playing football is more honorable than jumping to the next improved cont...
Re: O'Dowda
My point being, if money is his driver, there was every chance that he would have been able to negotiate a far bigger deal in January / end of next season, further proving himself at a higher level and internationally. I feel he's jumped too early, given his likely increasing value. I do recognise t...
Re: O'Dowda
Of course he's doubled his salary and some. However, if he has real belief and ambition to play at the top level, amongst the mega bucks, I would guess his chances would've been increased by another development year in Lg1 at a progressive club / us. After all, Arsenal obviously believe that one of ...
Re: O'Dowda
Silly boy, who obviously has limited confidence in his ability and cashed out early.

Re: Where Is The Roof?
Credit to the club for the whole end to end deal. Entice him in, get promoted and then sell on for a fair wedge a year later. That's astute and hopefully repeatable. Everyone's a winner.
I'm hoping we get another year with Callum. We need both his contribution and increasing value next season.

Riberio sounds promising, albeit his injury record has to be a concern
Re: Hands up!
"serious need of innovation to survive" ... If innovation is changing for the benefit of all things premier league, lower league clubs won't survive. Poor justification from the club. However, I assume and hope we'd take a different stance now that the EFL chairman is no longer on our board.
Re: Gutted...
Had we really wanted him to stay, we'd never had let his contract run down. He's been made to feel more wanted / valued elsewhere. I think Appleton always had concerns about his ability to link up with others, especially at a higher level. His whole hearted, never give up, style is one admired more ...

Re: Sweet Caroline
Fabulous end to a wonderful season. What's really special is that this doesn't feel like the end, more the beginning of something more, something even better. The biggest achievement has been turning the culture of the club around to one that is united, has self belief and is connected with it's fan...

Re: Wembley tickets
Regarding prices for those 60-65. OUFC are correct in their pricing. The issue is at Barnsley's end, inappropriately discounting for a section of their working age fan base. I'd hazard a guess that those 60-65 are amongst the wealthiest cohort in our fan base.

Re: Trebles all round
The most noticeable improvement in todays' team is the number of players with a first touch, something Beano doesn't possess. Combined with his inability to stay on side, he really wouldn't fit the way we play. We've progressed, whilst Beano continues to be a competent and reliable conference striker.

Re: HALLOWEEN HORROR FOR NINE MAN STEVENAGE
I agree with Oxman regarding the first half against Newcastle in 83. Kicking towards the London Road; the best football ever played, by any team, anywhere!
