Perhaps not directly related to the most recent contributions, but...... There has been much said on Radio Oxford, and elsewhere, about the financial importance of a decent cup run. But is that so we can bring in one or two more players and have the opportunity to do things that 'take the club forwa...

Maybe they do practice set-pieces - but our defenders are only able to practice defending rubbish crosses? Maybe I am missing something, but I would expect an (ex) international defender to be able to drill other defenders in the art of defending.....

If you take a wrong turn in search of this pub and end up in Nottingham, The people in The Southbank on the, er, South Bank of the Trent, next to the, um, Trent End of the City Ground are always happy to put Setanta games on for me (and one other similarly dislocated Yellow who is also always there).

Since icebergs are colloquially defined by the amount of trouble-causing mass that is hidden from sight, my guess is that such icebergs as do exist are currently somewhere down Grenoble Road. To extend the analogy to (past?) breaking point, the question remains as to whether anybody concerned with t...

Gary Smart an inappropriate name? How many players have we had with degrees? (and I am not biased just because he is married to someone I was at school with). Having finally succomed to criticising DP after Saturday's debacle, he goes and puts out a proper formation with motivated players in their p...

My interest in football centres around my interest in United. Take that away and my interest in football generally will unquestionably go down. I was born and bred in Cumnor and the longer I have lived away from there, the more my bond to that place and that part of me has come through my support of...

Half the defence played out of position. One of the others capable only of hoofing the ball away (usually ceding possession, given our players' inability even to win 50/50 balls). Three supposedly decent midfielders unable to control the ball, let alone the game. One winger disinterested, the other ...

From where I was sat, the free kick Kettering got was the right decision. Several players slid in, but I could see clearly Reid take the player and miss the ball. Absolutely right about us defending deeper and deeper, sacrificing possession at every opportunity towards the end. On the balance of pla...

On the one hand, I am loathe to call for DP to go, given that the one thing our club has lacked for far too long is stability. On the other hand, yesterday I sat and fidgeted through a performance where the players seemed unmotivated, flat-footed and leaden-legged and where there was no movement off...

Then again, he also omitted Husbands and Willmott. It almost looks like DP has a grand plan for rotation on the bench. Good job he included Hutch, though.

Reasons for optimism - at times (oh the smallest glimmer), a style of play that was easy on the eye and led to chances being created. New signings who, on the whole, looked OK (I also feel Burnell was not that bad - and if Murray was not carrying an injury before last night, he might be now given so...

I was less concerned about individual performances than the collective right side of the team. Yemi did OK I thought, without lighting up the place (I reckon more passes than previously went to teammates). Equally, whilst Clarke made a few errors he generally did OK - and blaming him for not taking ...

Who are you?

Sat on this bus this morning going to work, I looked down as a car passed by, only to see an Oxford United scarf and minikit in the back window. And I thought there were no other Yellows in Nottingham....

I shall be booking myself into a B&ampB for a weekend's birdwatching, sampling the local ales (a Brizzle City-supporting colleague tells me there are some fine pubs there but, rather unhelpfully, cannot remember where they are), checking out the local pie shops (enyone else see the Hairy Bikers?...

Ah - after too long away, I have finally sorted out my long-forgotten log-in details. I probably suffer from over-optimism, naivete and ignorance (in what combination, I would not like to guess), but I am puzzled by what is actually meant by Merry 'delivering'. We have an owner who is, like us, an O...
