Re: Back online
Weirdly, it seems to have also deleted a few of my recent posts - unless I've upset the mods! Anyway, thanks for fixing. As always, if donations towards running costs are needed then make sure you say.

Re: Give Us A (Stratfield) Brake
Interesting to note the report anticipates seeing "a planning application submitted by May 2023 and construction of the new Stadium to be completed by May 2026."
That strikes me as VERY optimistic.

Re: Give Us A (Stratfield) Brake
I'm a bit more positive than you, KY. You're right that there aren't any great pubs near the new site, but frankly there aren't any good ones near where we've been for the last 21 years either! But at least we can all have a few drinks in Kidlington and walk over or in the city centre and get a trai...

Re: (Water) Eton Rifles
Interesting that the letter doing the rounds says "18,000 capacity" and not "18,000-seater". Please god let that mean a safe standing terrace somewhere... #BringBackTheLondonRoad #LeftSideTilIDie That aside, anyone who remembers how long it took to secure the move to Minchery Far...
Re: Progress
The question is, though - are these last two performances a blip, a mid-season drop, or a serious slump? I'm basing this solely on having seen the highlights (the guidance for those of us living in Wales is to not go to a crowded stadium, let alone drive for several hours to do so), so my view may ...

Season’s greetings
Logging out of all social media and other distractions in order to make the most of the festive period, but just wanted to wish everyone on here best wishes and to thank you for all the interesting discussions over the last year. Here’s hoping football returns to some semblance of normality in 2022,...

Re: Where are they now?
Darren Purse appointed U23 manager at Cardiff City, having previously worked at Oxford United's academy. That means he has now played for and been part of the coaching staff at both clubs.
Re: Progress
Not sure what you mean by "not playing any recognised opposition yesterday"... If you were referring to the players they had missing , then let us not forget us getting a point from the Rotherham game No, I was referring to the fact that they're a Pariah Club who don't deserve to exist an...
Progress
Good to see Us gaining three points and moving up the Div 3 table despite not playing any recognised opposition yesterday. A weird but welcome glitch in the system, I suppose. How serious do we take this promotion challenge then? For me, I think we just lack the quality and the depth to get into the...

So it is! Still think they'll rip us a new one.

Re: Hoping history does not repeat itself
Bit worried about Saturday though. Beating Fleetwood at home when they're out of form and the manager's on the cusp of sacking is one thing (even if we're down to the bare bones); going to Rotherham will be different gravy entirely, and I fear they'll rip us a new one.

Re: Takeover / stadium
Any half-competent lawyer worth their salt can get round a covenant on a piece of land - especially if, as in this case, there wasn't a willing tenant anyway.recordmeister wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 11:43 pm - what could happen to the stadium after we leave, after that date (is there a covenant that ‘professional football’ must be played there)?

Takeover / stadium
What do we make of this news then?
New balance of ownership
New ambition (rise from Div 3 to Div 2 in two years)
New stadium?!?

Re: Where are they now?
I had a free Saturday today whilst visiting my in-laws in Dorset so went to watch Wimborne Town v Farnborough in the Southern Prem. Both Sam Deering and Ricky Holmes started for the visitors and absolutely bossed the game. Farnborough won’t be at that level for long - they have great quality through...
