Re: Is anyone else.....

...getting nervous? I know I am. yes! for me, a victory over wycombe to secure promotion is pretty much what I would script if I could. wycombe have always been the main rival for me growing up in bucks. defeat taking it away from Us doesn't bear thinking about... completely agree with recordmeiste...

Re: RIP John

I was talking about john only the other day, spending a couple of weeks as I am in his part of the world after the newport game. I didn't know john that well, but he would often push me when I was on the oxvox committee, as i'm sure he did other members too, on here and in private, getting us to jus...

Re: Crawley 1-5 OXFORD

important to get this post-wembley mini season off to a positive start. we managed it, and how. spirit, performance, result, winning margin... bring on the next five games and let's get the job done.

Re: Accounts

How confident are we that in the long-run the money they're spending will be their own and not the club's? it depends on how much you consider DE a man of his word. this is what the oxvox notes record DE as saying about it at the september 2014 post-takeover fans' forum: 'DE stressed that you don't...

Re: OxVox elections

more to the point though i'm just pleased to see people, and people who are new to oxvox (or at least I haven't been previously aware of them), keen to get involved. as I've said on here numerous times, the trust needs enthusiasm and energy, so it's good to see members responding to what jem and the...

Re: OxVox elections

if BB wants to step back on to the committee, then he gets one of my votes as I've seen the amount of work he's put in over the last 12 months. so much for the 'break'!

besides, anyone who gets a member of ride to join the trust would get my vote anyway...

Re: Bloody awful

Some people on RadOx were linking the drop off in form to the departure of Baldock, but is that not just a spurious correlation? You could just as reasonably say it was the departure of Ashton. How does the departure of Baldock explain players' inability to hit a pass or win a 50/50? well not entir...

Re: Dip?

is it a dip? I think the mix of cup and league games means it's hard to get a true sense. calendar year 2016 has been: notts county (a) - W swansea (h - cup) - W milwall (a - cup) - W bristol rovers (h) - L portsmouth (a) - W blackburn (h - cup) - L milwall (a - cup) - L mansfield (h) - D i think it...

Tonight

we looked as vulnerable as we've ever done from set pieces and corners in the first leg against milwall. I really hope we've worked on this for this leg: I thought we were incredibly fortunate not to concede from one of those. dunkley to be given a start this evening?.. I think that's what I would d...

Re: Oxford United v Blackburn Rovers - the Spirit of '64

agree with all that - first time i think i've seen Us this season where we haven't managed to lay a glove on our opponents. again we struggled against a physical side, but rovers' had a bit more again. thought rovers' centre backs were particularly good. their keeper had one save to make from sercom...

Re: Missing piece of the jigsaw

whether it's his style of play or that he wanted to make an impact, the thing I liked about bowery is that he was looking to shoot. that might well be an important complement to our build up play. I agree with OUFC4evA, o'dowda didn't have a good game. I wondered if he was trying too hard to impress...

i'm very confident appleton won't be going anywhere until the end of the season and extremely confident about roofe.

o'dowda, sercombe, or lundstram are the ones I worry about.

A home defeat

i'll start then. I think a number of Us were concerned about this game after the terrific performances against swansea and milwall. in the end I didn't think we looked physically tired - I was impressed with the attacking verve that baldock, macdonald, roofe, and sercombe showed - having all played ...

i'll put a good amount of money on roofe being here to the end of the season.
