Re: Football League Trophy

Anyway, in the midst of all this Checkatrade hand-wringing no-one's mentioned we're playing Franchise FC this Saturday... Best to not open that particular can of worms! Suffice to say, I'll be watching some local non-league on Saturday. You're a serial boycotter of games - the ultimate cons...

Re: Football League Trophy

For those looking for alternative fixtures tomorrow and don't mind a bit of travel, Brackley are away at Tamworth and Banbury are away at Biggleswade.

Re: Football League Trophy

How's about this for an idea. Why doesn't the Football League decide upon what the format will be for next year before this year's final - announce it and then people will be able to decide whether to attend based on facts rather than supposition/concerns for the future. Just a thought. That would ...

Re: Football League Trophy

http://www.efl.com/news/article/2015/johnstones-paint-trophy-to-celebrate-tenth-anniversary-2528110.aspx This says that last year's winner would get a total of £124,000.00 and suggests that this would be total winnings through all the rounds. Obviously a lot more this year but £1,000,000.00 was adde...

Re: Football League Trophy

It is worth noting that Coventry City played their Semi-Final in front of just under 12,000 last night. Their last appearance at home at the same stage of this competition in 2013 saw just under 32,000 attend.

Re: Football League Trophy

I think Kardiff Exile summed it up nicely there. I'm more than happy to miss these games on the basis that I feel that long-term damage could be done by this tournament. Obviously, it might not be and this could all be a storm in a teacup but recent history shows us that the Premier League will do a...

Re: Football League Trophy

How many fans are actually boycotting these matches? By which I mean people who attended them regularly previously (not just Slumdon at home), who have deliberately not gone this year? Judging by attendances so far, about 500 to 1,000 I'd say. Which isn't going to make much of a dent in a Wembley c...

Re: Football League Trophy

The final is the most important game to boycott because it will send the strongest message that we will not put up with the bollox that the PL and EFL try to throw at us.

Re: Chairman's Programme Notes v Scunthorpe

The open letter made it sound like the Oxvox committee are puppets on a string dancing to the whim of Kassam and the Council without even realising it. I am a life member of Oxvox and don't like to criticise them as ultimately they are volunteers just doing what they think is best but they seem very...

Re: CheckaGrecian

Entertaining game that many fans missed out on, although the crowd was higher than I was expecting given the public furore over the competition. Many of us were quite happy to miss the game, no matter how entertaining, given the long-term threat which the new format poses to the existence of clubs ...
