Re: End-of-April prediction poll

Based on unsophisticated analysis, usually known as 'the blind optimism of a condemned man', I have a strange feeling that we will : - beat Fleetwood - just - draw at Plymouth - after being ahead - beat York - routinely - lose at Scunny - in a nervous, scrappy game - beat Accrington - who, by then, ...

Re: Don't normally go to away games

The wheels hadn't come off under CW, but I believe that up until CW went many of us were deluding ourselves that we were a promotion outfit - we hadn't really played many games against the better sides and didn't win those we did play. Be honest, how many of the current squad could hold their own ag...

Re: Portsmouth

He has his good and bad points - I loved his 'Where's your Caravan' book, and remember several battling 'lionheart' performances against eg Luton away. But he lacked finesse, and I can completely understand your viewpoint. I guess I'm a bit of a sucker for players who put the effort in such as Hargr...

Re: Portsmouth

Normally at this stage of the season OUFC have little left to play for and I amuse myself by donning my Vindictive Hat and start following the misfortunes of teams that I would like to see suffer. This season is slightly different as we shall go into the Easter weekend still very much in the hunt fo...

Burton today

Well beaten. Shocking first half - second to everything and very little fight. Midfield woeful. Second half much better, and could have got even. Although other results could have been worse, I'm mentally preparing myself for a trip to the hellhole of Kenilworth Road next season because I don't see ...

Re: Yellow Player

The world is a different place when you configure your codecs properly. Any old fool knows that, Yorkie.

GY - I live near Hazlemere, High Wycombe. The clue is in the username.

(That wasn't meant to sound as cleverdickish as it looks on screen)

Re: Yellow Player

STOP PRESS......I have a response from Perform Group to my grizzly email last Tuesday evening. "...the issue was down to BBC Radio Oxford using the incorrect settings on their codecs". There are so many things that p*ss me off about this whole issue, not least of which is that I live about...

Re: Yellow Player

It was AWFUL on Tuesday night. At least it got better during the Exeter match. I just couldn't follow the Newport game at all. It was way behind the clock as well - live score updates were on Sky Sports News before the commentary on YP. Twitter is quicker. And free.

Re: Deadline Day (and injuries)

I wonder if Dubes is fit enough/up for a short term deal ? I would go with Bevans tomorrow but you could do far worse if you are looking for cover.

Re: Wilder Gone

I'll say he's cocked up badly - firstly, I see no way back for him at OUFC, secondly it could take time to sort the contractual stuff out, by which time the NTFC job may well have gone to someone else and thirdly his personal reputation in the eyes of prospective future employers is quite badly dama...

Re: Wilder Gone

Apparently he hasn't resigned. According to his agent.

Oh dear. This now appears to have descended to statements issued through 3rd parties, and denials/counterdenials.

Re: Wilder Gone

I shed no tears. I would have liked his departure to have been conducted with a bit more dignity, but I only have IL's version of events to go on.

Re: Promo or no-no?

Hog has moved the debate much closer to the major issue that bothers me - given the track record of L2 promoted teams over the last 5 years (Chesterfield, Exeter, Wycombe, Stevenage, Bury, Shrewsbury etc) is CW the man to keep us in L1 even if we get there ? We can argue until the cows come home ab...

Re: Northampton want Wilder...

There is - unusually - a fairly sensible discussion on the subject on the Yellows Forum.

No doubt that will all change as soon as school is out.....
