Re: Hands up!
It gets worse: http://www.eurosport.com/football/fans-against-b-teams-proposal-for-efl-trophy_sto5667467/story.shtml Premier League teams will be able to field U23 teams with 4 overage players allowed. Penalty shoot-outs will take place if there is a draw in the group stage games. Extra time will be...
Re: Hands up!
Hugely disappointed by Us voting in favour of this and I do not buy the 'explanation' either - "we were opposed but we voted for it anyway to save the competition". Nonsense. I will be boycotting all games in this competition from now on. If we stand for this B Team nonsense now then who k...

Re: Gutted...
Sad news indeed ( http://www.oufc.co.uk/news/article/oxford-united-danny-hylton-3130856.aspx ). Presumably Luton are paying more (Appleton references Hylton having a family to think of) and perhaps Appleton also told him that first team chances might be limited at the higher level. Thank you Danny f...

Well called Sir.... http://www.lutontown.co.uk/news/article ... 30720.aspxGodalmingYellow wrote:I think Mulls will find a club in League 2 no problem. Only question might be if they can deliver on his wages. Portsmouth or Luton might be a good fit for him.

Re: Flog, carry, avoid
Appleton linked to Leeds - http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/05/25/report-leeds-united-also-targeting-oxford-united-boss-michael-ap/ . Even if Leeds did make an offer I think that this is 0% likely to happen. Appleton has been burned twice by basket-case clubs and I cannot see him making the same mista...

Re: Summer days
Pat Hoban helped Grimsby win the Conference play-off final. He's made 12 appearances for them (without scoring, I think) so maybe he will sign for them after Appleton, presumably, lets him go.
Re: RIP John
I didn't know the chap, but I'll miss his though-provoking and intelligent contributions to this forum. Same here - his posts were always interesting reading (particularly when discussing the planning issues around Grenoble Road), and I enjoyed our occasional tangents about watching football in Wal...

Re: Let's face it...
The situation has not changed after last night, we can still win all our games and go up. In fact, we are in a slightly better position as there is 1 game less to play. Obviously winning them might be a problem now that we have an injury ravaged first team which is always the risk with the quality o...

Re: Predictor table
I got nearly the same with Us, Bristol and Accrington all ending up on 85 points with Us and Bristol going up on GD.
I had Portsmouth 5th then Wimbledon and Plymouth completing the play-offs with Wycombe and Exeter finishing 7 points adrift, both on 71.

Re: Mildly diverting coincidence
I was discussing the same coincidence with a work colleague yesterday. I remember being in a Wembley pub celebrating Us victory and watching the last few balls of the cricket in 2010. Might get to repeat that this time as well as I think the cricket will be in the closing stages when we get out of W...
