Re: Oh I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside

I was at the game, Jerome, and it reminded me of the last time I saw us win there, in 1992 when we were full of goals, and they were appalling. (We ended up that season largely rubbish and they ended up with Stan Collymore). The game was over as soon as we got the second, and although they had a lit...

Re: Have I Got Old News For You

Wasn't it Blackpool? No idea who the other keeper who scored against us was. Speaking of goalscoring keepers I believe we have had 4 not already mentioned who have scored goals (albeit not for us). One is easy to get, one scored 8 goals over the course of his career, one was probably our most famou...

Preston retro game - when goalkeeper Alan Kelly played on the wing with his arm in a sling. https://www.lep.co.uk/sport/football/preston-north-end/pne-news/preston-retro-game-when-goalkeeper-alan-kelly-played-on-the-left-wing-with-his-arm-in-a-sling-against-oxford-united-in-1971-1-10088554 http://w...

Re: Chris Wilder

CNEMWO OK I give up. Back in the day of Rage On as a physical fanzine you could buy with money, there was a running joke about Denis "Next England Manager" Smith (Out), aka DNEMSO, lampooning both his claims that he had once been under consideration for the national job and also how far h...

Re: Oh dear god

Joking aside, best thing he can do now is front up to the media, admit to a huge mistake, lesson learned, etc and admit to some of the stick he’ll be getting right now from his teammates.

Oh dear god

A season of almost unrelenting misery, but at least we've got Gavin Whyte.

Re: Summer news

Matt Everett responded to me yesterday with the majority of what is now on the OWS so fair play to him in terms of communication and good to see that there will be other retro products for sale at a more palatable price point. https://www.oufc.co.uk/news/2018/october/commercial-update/ He replied t...

Re: Summer news

Dan- couldn’t agree more and i’d be happy to pay £21.25 for the £8 shirt with sewn on OUFC bits and allow 125 folk to pay more for the premium product. I’m going to email the club with this idea to see if they take it on board. Slightly disappointing lack of response from the club on this. I emaile...

Re: Summer news

A really good idea, I thought, to create a new shirt for this one-off, but the club have made a right dog's dinner of this. When I clicked on the picture of the shirt I was quite excited, what with Christmas and a son's birthday coming up, but £75 for that shirt is a total joke. Were it £75 for a TO...

Re: Robinson Out

Not sure that Obika fully deserves the abuse he's getting. He's not much cop, I definitely admit, but he's scored more league goals this season than our other two strikers combined. I'd suggest it's more the system at fault, ie one striker playing on his own isolated up front, than Obika per se. Oxb...

Re: Robinson Out

The cynic in me thinks he's trying to get himself sacked now. After all, why wouldn't you take a nice pay-off from a club anyone can see is teetering on the brink of the abyss. You might as well get the cash while you can. Two years' pay for working (assuming we manage to stay alive that long), or t...

Re: Robinson Out

I guess the longer that Mapp is out of work, the more chance he might come back to us. Other option: how about the Cowley bros at Lincoln who are performing miracles. But agree, I’ve had enough of Robinson. Although given that we bought him out of a contact at Charlton, (how they must have laughed) ...
