Agree with this ^^^.

A statement of 'Beano goes nowhere' is unrealistic, as everyone knows. For the right price, even Man Utd have to consider whether someone goes somewhere.

This does seem extraordinary, even by the comic standards of football management.

Does the reference to 'someone more experienced' mean that someone has already been identified, or has recently become available? It's clearly a high-risk position......

Excellent post, Swissbloke. In fact, a lot of wisdom on this forum over recent days. We all really know that the way to help players or a manager is to support them to the hilt - a kind of unconditional love - but only until your head tells you that things cannot be turned around. So there's no poin...

Excellent post, Boris.

Indeed, what a list, but unfair on Leo Roget, who had his wobbly moments, but does not deserve to be in the distinguished company of Woozley, Wood and Molyneaux.

....and how could I forget GNOHERE!

Agree with most of this. Futcher yesterday was close to an embarrassment - indeed a donkey. Maclean looked OK, though. Actually, I'm not convinced that the CW strategy (players out, players in) is necessarily the wrong one, but they must be the right players. I think Creighton and Midson may not be ...

I agree with SO, with the possible exception of Bulman. I recall the mid 80's. when Jim Smith did not hesitate to replace players, especially strikers, as we went up the leagues (Cassells, Vinter, Whatmore). Of course, the differences are as important as the similarities. We had a core of players, a...

Entirely agree with Isaac, especially about the brainless dive-in at Bradford. I have no idea whether CW makes 'personal' decisions, but this is certainly not evidence that he does. I would deem his apparent reluctance to drop Hall, Tonkin or Heslop over recent weeks as much more questionable.

I do think the League 2 standard is higher than I expected, and higher than when we were relegated, although no-one can prove it. I also think Boris is a little unfair with his designation of a largely Conference squad. You have to assume that a team promoted from one league can at least cope in the...

I am normally a 'glass half full' supporter, and by inclination a loyalist, but I was sorely disappointed by Saturday, probably accentuated by the 400 mile round trip. The performance really wasn't good enough. Firstly, discipline: Creighton is supposed to be one of the senior players, and the foul ...

Not particularly in relation to this incident, I also think the word 'soft' for a penalty can imply the the conceding player had another clear option. In one sense, no-one needs to foul an opponent, but often the challenge which concedes a penalty is a desperate attempt to prevent a goal, and the ch...

Although a Wright fan, I agree McKenzie was his man when he scored.

If we all agree Hall is the (major) problem, why does CW fail to act?

I agree with most of this, but think it is a bit hard on Heslop - excellent first few games, goal-scoring ambition and a strong shot. He has faded recently, but I think the midfield problems are centred on Hall. So many people have commented that we looked more solid both against Cheltenham and Nort...

The point about 'only two (Oxford) Wembley starters started yesterday' is an interesting reflection on CW and the team. It is 2/10, as Chapman is in prison. Another 4 were effectively unavailable (Batt, Wright, Creighton &amp Tonkin). That leaves four. Only one (Bulman) is no longer at the club,...
