- FA Trophy scores don't appear on Soccer Saturday unless you're lucky enough to see the result come through before the classified check. For those ties, your team almost seems to cease to exist. - When you're asked which team you support, the questioner says &quotweren't you in the first divisi...

I spent an enjoyable few days in Kaliningrad a few years ago, but not enjoyable enough to ever make me want to go back to Russia it has to be said. We visited virtually the only pre-WW2 building extant - a cathedral, and the welcoming feeling in the tour round the place was confirmed when the guide ...

Any discussion of this nature cannot proceed further without due consideration of the De Broglie hypothesis (you will remember, from your 'O' level physics classes, Dirac's Constant [ h-bar = h / (2pi) ]). Please refresh your memories before making further postings on light spectroscopy. Additionall...

It was puzzling yesterday. On the one hand, I think you'd have to be positive in the extreme to suggest that the current side will be top 7 come the end of season on the other hand, it became obvious in the second half that the difference in class between the two sides was not great. If both sides h...

Have been playing the Demo, and it's pretty good. I've gone for Weston-super-Mare, on the basis they are the lowest ranked team in the BSS. Few odd points from me: - Manager mind-games/comments are a lot more prevalent, which is good - Loony attacking strategies seem less successful for me than befo...

&quotThat game took me back to a far off time long ago, when the long drive home was filled with joy and smiles.&quot* * Barring, I would hope, that game at Peterborough when we lost 2-4 and nearly froze to death, plus the Police then nearly got me for speeding on the A6 after I dropped you ...

Wasn't the match in the IoW more notable for Malcolm Shotton getting (apparently) completely pissed after it?

Seems to ring a bell.

My England supporting days ended when they got beaten 2-3 at Wembley by Croatia in the Euro qualifier - an abject performance for which a pretty good manager got most of the blame. I've not watched them since, and am only going to watch one match (vs USA) out of politeness to my next-door neighbour ...

Ah - great, thanks. I'll get it off itunes later, and annoy the household by listening to it loudly whilst necking Bulmer's Pear Cider. Thought the music at Wembley was rather good - or at least, to my taste (Killers/Kaiser Chiefs et al). Overblown before kick-off and FT though, but what the hell. A...

Wembley music?

After giving up on trying to get into the bogs at half-time to take a piss, I got back to my seat just as the teams came out. Stirring guitar music, which I liked. It sounded a bit like something Muse would put out. If it is by them, I can't identify it. Anyone know/remember what it was? Cheers. In ...

Playing at Burton Albion, which is my 'local' ground. Pity Notts County got promoted, but there is always Chesterfield and Northampton in easy range.

Also looking forward to not hearing (hopefully) anything more from Andy Burgess. Ditto, Brian Lee.

Agree with the other posters. Pretty good advertisement for the club yesterday to all those who 'came out of the woodwork' for this match, and demonstrating the level of support the club has/can attract. I think the 8-year old Oxford-supporting lad sitting next to me (with obviously non-Oxford suppo...

I'm currently managing Parma in Football Manager in Serie A. When I took over midway through the 2010-11 season they were in Serie B. We got promoted in the playoffs, beating Bologna and Vicenza to go up in a two-leg semi and two-leg final. The rules for promotion were outside my knowledge, and very...

Struck me as histrionics, and in the oddball media pattern of some other Oxford managers in the past, *not* what you generally hear from other managers in the media. Odd on the back of a good win, and thin-skinned - regardless of the claims early in the interview. Reasonable as a passing aside, more...
