Re:

The poll says withdraw the sponsorship unless he makes an apology. It seems he has made a private apology and also one on his facebook page. Moreover the club has also thoguht about educating younger players about racism Except of course that there has been no apology and the club have said a line ...

from Kelvin's statement on the club site Tuesday 30 December. &quotI spoke to Sam in person .... he sincerely apologises to anyone offended by these comments and also to the supporters, management and his fellow players at Oxford United.&quot Does that count as an apology? It seems to fit th...

My first thought was to give the lad the benefit of the doubt. He was probably on the finest painkillers known to humanity, and I hope would never have dreamt of saying anything like that under normal circumstances. Geoff's story of his wife who isn't a racist yet still called a doctor &quota bl...

Did any of you read SD's comment in its original context? It was a bit like when Big Ron thought he was off-air.

The lesson must be never to put anything on any forum or facebook or bebo or myspace or blog that you would not mind seeing on the front page of the Oxford Mail - or whatever.

No probs - I use firefox for Betfair and that often needs cookies cleaning. It helps to be able to choose which cookies though rather than just deleting all of them.

football website with customisable tables

Is there a website that lets you do a table without say any of Lewes's results? I was wondering what would happen if they went bust and all results were made void. There used to be a website that let you do for instance a league table based on the the last 10 minutes of each game. I can't remember w...

OK back to the start. WPL took over Spring 2006. From memory they said they'd paid £2m, which I always understood was a nominal £1 for share capital and repaid £2m of debt to Kassam. Firoka (London Park) Ltd March '06 accounts Disclose a disposal of shares in OUFC which had a cost of £129,813 and re...

I called it Investment because that is the heading (Fixed Asset - Investment) under which it is disclosed in the WPL accounts, which take advantage of small company exemptions. Anyway, yes it almost certainly is the long term loan to OUFC, but why it is classified as an investment in WPL, but as a l...

WPL's "investment" at 31 Jan 2008

WPL have just published their 2008 accounts. At 31 January 2008, WPL's investment in OUFC was £2.73MM (2007 - £1.94MM). So the extra amount they have &quotinvested&quot in OUFC in that financial year is £790K. The investment at 30 June 2008 (the club's year-end) is not yet public, but is pre...

I can't believe the state of that Histon pitch from one week to the next. At the end of that Leeds game there were 2 players who both slipped up running for the ball.

As for the rain on the main tv camera, surely someone could have dried it off.

This would liven up oxvox meetings... The champagne was flowing last night in a celebration of the launch of oxvox.co.uk. Societies editor, Lucy Porter commented, ‘we’ll definitely be having more oxvox parties’, so look out for the next Journalism Society night. The fancy dress theme ‘dress as a fam...

Re:

I caught a snippet on RadOx after the game. Jerome said we’d get £4k if we win on Tuesday. Can anyone find a link to that, plus what happens money wise if we progress further? And given that the FA are not running this competiton just who is making the rules here, as in any other competition a tran...

Re:

Anyway, of the 55 players we’ve used in the fist team in the last 14 months statistically some of them will have been gay. Certainly, lots of them were black and probably originated from a country many people will recognise as not being England. Any psychologists care to explain if this is a freudi...

Re:

I would suspect that this season's season ticket money got partly used paying off debts from last season. But again, that’s just guessing isn’t it? It is of course speculation, which is why I said &quotI suspect&quot. If I don't know something for sure then I generally hedge my words accord...
