I'm surprised that nobody else has commented on the season ticket price announcement so far. For fewer games in a lower league we are being asked to pay the same as last year. I would have expected at least a small reduction if they really wanted to try and attract more fans. The announcement from t...

Tickety Boots

Seeing as we've got no Oxford games to predict for a while yet and everybody is doing world cup predictions how about a season ticket boot (or Y-front). Guess the number of season tickets sold by the first game of the season. I'll go for 2650. Oh yes one rule - No editing of predictions allowed - fi...

So why hasn't the Oxford Mail simply stated this?
What, and let the truth get in the way of a good story? I haven't seen the story but I wouldn't be surprised if there's some reference to Firoz Kassam deciding to build only 3 sides.

Reality

Just browsing round a few sites about the conference it seems that none of them have updated the teams for next season yet - presumably because of all the possible comings and goings around Altrincham, Scarborough, Canvey Island and Tamworth. The reality of our new league status is going to hit home...

Half-time. First home game. First minute, first pre-season game if some of the miserable old gits around me are anything to go by. Hard one to call on season tickets. I think the &quotanti-kassam-we'll-come back-when-he-goes&quot brigade are a fickle bunch and are unlikely to buy season tic...

But £2.25 million of the liabilities is deferred grant income. Presumably as long as the stadium remains in use as a football stadium then this is out of the equation. I'm guessing that this money has long since been spent and its just shown in the balance sheet as a liability for accounting purpose...

£10 million is about right and what I'd expect Kassam to ask for. He may be persuaded to come down a bit more than this. Based on the latest accounts (which are a year old) the Stad Co has never made a profit (loses about 200k per year). Its probably worth as a going concern and an asset that you co...

Yes I heard the same comment on 5 (lets just recycle what the papers have written)Live. Of course what they don't mention is that he probably applied for every managerial job going over the last couple of years and got turned down for all except one. Kassam was useless at making the right managerial...

So if I understand this correctly we have £350,000 plus 25% of approx £2.2million (estimated average of last 2 seasons). Which gives us approximately £900,000 to spend. In 2005 the club spent £1.75 on wages and salaries. Once you account for admin and marketing staff the playing budget was about £1....

I think it all depends on the players who can be enticed in. The survivors from this season aren't going to set the conference alight but they are solid enough. The key requirements are creative/attacking midfield players and a 25 goals a season striker. Bradbury and Hackett were the nearest we had ...

Dreamers

For those who have been involved in H-Ho's dreamers league the final league table should be in your in boxes and makes interesting reading. Bottom of the Oxford fans in joint 81st place are a certain Steve Hanks and David Pryor. Always said they talked rubbish when it came to football. Highest place...

The bits that have never added up for me with the Gang of Four's logic (&amp JR in particular) are: 1. If Kassam is/was so evil and in it for the money only then why do they think he would have just walked away if FOUL hadn't backed him. Surely he would have stayed anyway. 2. Rosenthal says that...
