Re: Spotafan Trophy 2017-18 / #BTeamBoycott

So did more than 1000 Us fans (1073 to be exact) really go to Stamford Bridge last night? To watch us play a bloody U21 side? Bloody hell. Whatever happened to the boycott...?

Glad we finally got knocked out.

Re: Who do you want next?

Hmm, not sure about Faz and Chrissy Allen. Every time we go down that route (Fordy, Lewis, Patterson, etc.)_ it doesn't exactly seem to go well. Not sure about the inexperience of Lampard either, but I guess the likes of Eastwood and Ledson might be blinded into staying by the appeal of his "bi...

Re: Pep Booted

Yeah, it's an odd decision. I've been very pessimistic about our play recently, but would certainly have given Pep at least until the end of the season, barring an absolutely shocking sequence of results. After all, however badly we've been playing lately, we're in the top half of the table. So ther...

Re: When do we start panicking?

Certainly glad I didn't bet on our beating Bury at home. Blimey, we aren't much good are we. Thank goodness for that points cushion. Even so, it would be good if someone could point me to where we get the 12 points. If we do get drawn into a relegation battle, I don't fancy our chances. We have not ...

Re: No more Payne

Absolutely - I've always thought our "natural level" was exactly that, bouncing between the second and third tiers.

Re: When do we start panicking?

No, I mean I'd be very surprised if we didn't stay up now. It's just that (a) there's little point in looking up the table, despite the seemingly narrow gap, as most of those sides up there seem way better than us, and (b) given the way we seem to be playing lately, I'm not particularly confident of...

Re: When do we start panicking?

I dunno. I'm still looking down the table rather than up. Until we get 50 points (assuming we do). I honestly have very little faith in this side at the moment, despite the last two wins

Re: The Road to Wigan Pier

The worst thing is I kind of expected a hammering. I said to a fellow supporter at work last week that it was a question of how many they put past us, expecting something like the Blackburn game. The good attacking teams know our defence is crap and just go for it against us. Then again, I expected ...

Re: Rovers Return

Yeah, it did look like men against boys. Even more of a difference in class than when we played them 2 years ago, and then there was a two division gap! One felt that if at any point Rovers wanted another goal, they'd probably just get one.

Re: Appleton in!

Pellegrini seems to be the favoured candidate at the moment. Appleton way down in the betting - wonder if that'll change?

If we do get 2.5 million for him, we'd be bonkers not to take it.

Cheltenham

Judging by that, we need an entirely new defence. Just horrible defensively (though some good attacking play). I left at 90 minutes, because I could see there was only one side winning it from there...
