I don't think 'hoofball' is fair in relation to us. In the game at Grenoble Rd, D&ampR were much closer to hoofball than we were. Our distribution from defence was poor, though - more ineptitiude than policy, I think.

I think Jim is right, for the reasons advanced. Duffy's clearly got attitudinal issues, cf Jim's comment on the substitution v FGR, when he said he took Duffy off 'because his head had gone' and the fact that other defenders clearly know to target him in the hope of getting a reaction. I wonder whet...

9-1 against Dorchester '95
Promotion in '96
Middlesbrough away '98 (Lost 4-1 but didn't care 'cos we finished 12th)
Nice to see these mentioned - I remember all three, if only because I sat horribly close to completely ecstatic Boro fans at the Riverside. Would add Trevor Hebberd.

How dare you introduce logic and reason into a football forum? Don't you realise that it's emotion and rhetoric that is required.
Insert '?' Rhetoric includes punctuation.

On this precise point, most people would say that it is honourable to dismiss people face to face - you can see the alternative leading to: 'He didn't have the courage to tell me to my face.' Certainly the home debacle against Exeter cannot be simply put down to formation. We never took off in the g...

Certainly agree about Gilchrist. Presumably he was seen as having some kind of talisman quality, in addition to the experienced pro factor. He has certainly let us down, although we can't be sure about his effect off the pitch. I generally would like to agree about Burgess, but when he is bad, he is...

I'm surprised, too, and it seems not to represent his season fairly (if that's what these things are about....). However, he is not the greatest defender in the Conference, and the august electorate may well have singled him out in those games where an Eddie mistake cost us points. The accolade is n...

Not quite. You may be right, but especially without Hargreaves, Quinn might go back to the midfield battler role which he performed pretty well a few seasons ago. Day, Quinn and Luke Foster can all play full back.

To go back to the issue, and look at it from a slightly different point of view. I'm sure most would agree that there was a failure of team spirit / commitment / ability to gel, both during Decembeer / January, and on Tuesday night. From outside the club, it's hard to know how to address this, altho...

For me, the Orient game was worse, since it came at the end of an awful season. Relegation loomed first as a possibility, then as a real possibility, and then..... There were at least good times this season. I would add that we did not deserve to win on Tuesday, and so I have to say we (the club) br...

Agreed - the season in a nutshell, really. Duffy misses guilt-edged chance, Turley bawls at the defence, and I think we were unlucky not to have Foster (L), who was looking a lot better than any of tonight's centre backs. That said, we blew it - a 2-0 lead, if underserved, and we couldn't keep the m...

A friend who has some general inside knowledge ot Kitkat (but no specific information!) would not be surprised if York played rough next Saturday. I think we might start without Yemi, and see how it goes.......

Foster (L) was outstanding yesterday, and I wholeheartedly agree that he and Corcoran look the best centre back pairing we have.

What happened to the official website idea of not playing Corcoran yesterday because of his ineligibility for the play-offs?

I would generally agree with the thread so far. I really rate Corcoran, and would be sorry if we do not secure his services. I think Hargreaves is worth it as a squad player, although I know nothing about his wages compared with those of others. Martin Foster looks like a tidy, competitive player, a...
