Is Robert Duffy worth a place in the starting XI?

Yes or No.
Unless I've missed something, we've yet to hear your views on the subject, Dan. It's a while since I had an argument with you about football...

According to the Rage Online databank, Duffy has scored 19 goals (for us) this season - 16 in the league, and 3 in Cup competitions.

Don't know where the rest of you are getting your stats from...

Eddie's Header

Bit late, I realise, but I've just seen Anaclet's goal on Saturday on YouTube. How great to see a midfielder arriving in the box at the rght time to meet a cross. And he did really well to get the right side of his marker and wrongfoot the keeper with the header. Very impressed. Unsurprisingly, I di...

Or Jemson.

Both of whom took a lot of stick for being 'lazy' despite being the most prolific strikers we'd seen for some time.

You don't think it was the quality of the game that impressed them, then?

Here we go again.

You'd rather we pick a player who hasn't looked like scoring at all in 3 games, ahead of a player who scored twice and hit the woodwork at least once in those same games?

I thought better of you Boris.

Any sort of comparison of JA with RD is going to make me laugh really quite a lot.[/quote] Funny this conversation has come round to Johnny Aldridge, as I was going to ask you (GY) whether you thought his knack of scoring more than one goal in a game, and accuracy with penalties, should detrac...

Re:

How many of Aldridge's goals were penalties? I know he didn't always take 'em (I can recall Trewick taking some), but I'd bet he was in double figures, maybe even 15? And all people will remember is the miss for 'pool in the FA cup final. Talking of Wimbledon, anyone remember this game: http://www....

Wouldn't it be funny if England end up winning this, after some of the most pathetic one day performances ever in the early stages?

The Aussies wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Re:

However, I don't understand all the complaints Duffy gets both during the game and on here afterwards. Yes he had a bad game on Sat but I didn't think he gave up at all. As a striker it must be very frustrating to spend the whole game winning headers when no-one gets onto them and having no chances...

Re:

Agree pretty much with everything that's been said but I think Baboo is damning Foster with faint praise. It was his creative run and pass that created the goal and he looked very active and competent in midfield. Would be interested to hear more reports of Foster. From the radio commentary I glean...

Re:

Best of a bad bunch Kernow - was there anyone else who deserved it more? Anaclet. Defended well and got forward well. Always made himself available for a pass from midfield or defence. Rarely had an option to move the ball on again easily. I know his crossing was poor (as ever), but if he could do ...
