Re:

I'd much rather have hung on to Tim Sills - at least he's done the business at this level. I think Sills, with the decent service we are now acquiring would have been fine at this level, the problem appears to be his wages, which presumably is why we let him go. Whether of course we can get anyone ...

Other names that caught the eye, although only from the point of view that I have heard of them, rather than knowing anything much about them are: Delroy Facey Eiffon Williams (was it him that burst onto the scene from the welsh league a few years back?) Jon Newby (Bury) Of course, Gavin Gordon and ...

Where were you.....

....when the rains came?? For me - Mid-walk between Sandhills and CPF, huddled firstly behind a tree before making it to a bus shelter for the worst bit. When it calmed a bit I carried on, wading through 6 inches of water in the subway under the Ring Road, to head down the cycle path, before giving ...

Sorry DLT, looks like another Dale you won't get to see this season...

Leaves us another head down up front, but sounds like more trouble than he was worth anyway

Blyth want to keep Dale

http://www.nonleaguedaily.com/news/index.php?&ampnewsmode=FULL&ampnid=36277 Blyth seem to be talking tough over Dale, so it will be interesting what sort of deal happens, if at all - depending of course on whether he is actuallly any good. Some of you may get to see tonight, the rest of us m...

Deja Vu

Seems all this unrest over Kassam penny-pinching was complete folly - if Doug Ellis can refuse to pay for a cup of coffee for his staff then why should anyone expect Kassam to have done?? One suspects Mr Ellis could do with being reminded of our plight of recent years before the Midlands are left wi...

Getting a little worried that there does not seem to be any movement on this front, once teams start pre-season then presumably players are less likely to move. I'd like to think that between them Yemi, BB &amp the two triallists will be able to contribute something, but I'd be happier with a mo...

Mansell leaves

Lee Mansell is joining Ian Atkins at Torquay. This surprises me as although not everyone's favourite, I would have thought his energy, workrate and versitility could have proved important this season with a smallish squad. Seems the wagecap has struck again, maybe? PS Ok, let's see how this poll thi...

Re:

In the Fixtures and Results section under the menu item Match the fixtures show Sunday for all 3 of those games that you mentioned. I'm pretty sure they are on the Fridays as somewhere I've read a quote about clubs being asked when they would prefer to play games moved for Englands matches and then...

Don’t disagree with you there, although I don’t see any harm in continuing to try out players from lower down the pyramid in case we do unearth that diamond that makes the difference. Other than that though, I’m reasonably impressed with the people coming in so far (though I always say that), as two...

Not quite the massive influx that we were led to expect today is it?

From what little I remember from the Non League press last season reports of our Eddie were quite favourable, but we shall have to wait and see.

Hopefully the two trialists will prove themselves worthy as well..

Wage Cap

Has anyone established what the wage cap will allow us to spend this season in comparison to last season?

We've dropped a number of people off the wagebill, but with Turley and Quinn staying and Gilly coming in, it would be good to know how much is left to pay/attract subsequent new signings?
