Re:

I think it's more the case that in this day and age it's easy for half a dozen excitable kids with access to the internet to wind themselves and each other up and appear to be some kind of group or movement. Woah, don't assume that it's just kids that go around shouting Wilder out because they're i...

Re: The Great Formation Debate

Lots of people seem to have questioned Wilder's choice of formation lately, but we've been given this great article defending Wilder's choice of 4-3-3. http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46blogspot&#46com/2011/09/why-4-3-3-is-right-formation-for-oxford&#46html So what does everyone thi...

Re:

To me in order to play 4 3 3 the two wide men up front can not be simply converted centre forwards. So Midson and Smalley for example can not be at their best when playing off Constable in a 4 3 3. The success in the past 2 games seems to have co incided with the defence suddenly getting it's act t...

If you want people to take a comment like this seriously at least provide some line of reasoning or evidence. As it is, it looks simply like you've thrown your toys out of the pram because Wilder has done something that upset you.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I thought it was better than constantly spamming it up with new ones. But as I mentioned 'surprise packages' when I wrote the preview it seems rather fitting. Also interesting to see a club like Morecambe (who I had down as relegation certs) top the table at this f...

I think we'll see something of a return to form and a nice 2-0 victory to go with it.

Incidentally, for the same fixture last season we were treated to three Oxford goals and two Burton players sent off! A repeat of that would be nice!

Deja Vu?

The question I've been asking is whether we're any better than last season. The stats actually seem to suggest we're on a par with last year, which is not really good enough, to be honest. http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46blogspot&#46com/2011/09/deja-vu&#46html From what you've seen...

After the Slumdon match and off-field shenanigans I thought it was only fair I wrote a little about OUR Mr Constable. For me, the Slumdon match confirmed him as a legend - a word that is so ridiculously overused it's untrue, and one that I'm usually reluctant to use. Maybe it's just the post-Swindon...

A Timeline of the Oxford-Swindon Rivalry

Hello all, I've written a little bit about the history of the rivalry ready for the big match on Sunday. http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46blogspot&#46com/2011/08/timeline-of-oxford-swindon-rivalry&#46html First trip to the County Ground for me, and I have to say I'm a little nervous.

To be fair, it wasn't just Beano losing headers on Saturday, the whole team were at it! Every time the ball went in the air it landed on a Bradford head, we just seem to be weak in the air.

I think you may be right, especially with some injuries to key players already. Once Capaldi, McLaren and Leven are back I'll feel a lot more comfortable. The midfield is my main concern at the moment.

I really like it, it's so much better than last year's. The one thing that worries me is this: &quotwe're looking forward to wearing it throughout the season at our away matches&quot. Can it not be worn only when there's a colour clash?

On the subject of our own friendly results, I've written a little bit about them. A sign of things to come, or Jamie Guy Syndrome?
