Re: Is it true...

We've had games on consecutive days as recently as 1993 when we had Palace at home on 27th December and away at Wolves the next day. But Palace and Wolves are different teams, aren't they? The original point was that we played Corby on consecutive days. Not happened in a long time, more's the pity!...

Re: Is it true...

It was very common indeed, back in those halcyon days, that a team would play at home on Christmas Day, and then the return fixture would be 24 hours later on Boxing Day, presumably to allow both a bumper home crowd in the holiday season. I would be very surprised in 1958 was a unique occurrence eve...

Re: Jon Shaw

Will be VERY surprised if they don't canter to the conference title this year. He says, hopefully tempting fate. Not sure if we've missed out there, or not. I think I'd like at least one more striker on the books, competing for a first team spot. Depends what is still forthcoming, but Jon Shaw certa...

Re: Different Teams in Different Sports

Isn't it interesting how you'll accrue different loves along the way, depending which direction life has blown you in? Oxford since 1984 for me, and struggle to get passionate about any other team, England included. Even when living in Scotland I couldn't get excited for Aberdeen despite their suppo...

Re: TBFUTH Awards

Not as many as you think.

I'm pretty sure Keith only hit the bar, Viv missed from the spot and Wendy put it wide when clean through.

Re: TBFUTH Awards

Not enough choice for 'worst loanee' award, could you please extend this category out to 11 or 12 possibles?

Re: players next season

Very hard to follow this thread - hard to believe you think we've the basis of a decent team, when five have already been released and you're advocating letting half of the rest of them go too! Who's left that isn't on loan? We're not keeping on any trainees. Duberry has a season left only, Capaldi ...

Those around and about them in the Conference are doing their level best to gift-wrap Lootown the final playoff spot, and if indeed they do sneak into 6th ahead of York or Southport then I'd stake my house on their winning the final, just to annoy me. The final injustice in a season that will see ti...
