Re: OXFORD v Plymouth Argyle

No one was more convinced than me that MApp should've gone last season and that DE was out of his league. Oh, how very wrong I was. Last night was the confirmation that we really are on to something. Everything that's been done this season, on and off the field, has been excellent, reflected in that...

Re: Appleton hasn't got a clue

Given that he has offered two new contracts to two keepers, neither of which are Clarke, one can only conclude that Clarke is being pushed out. Quite why, I really don't know.

It's difficult not to be sentimental with Clarkey. However, is he really not good enough?

Re: Abyss

On the evidence to date, DE, MAsh & MApp have collectively proved themselves to be incompetent. There is little to suggest that, together, they have the ability to address the many issues that are now becoming critical. If we continue in to next season with a similar approach from MAsh & MAp...

Re: Oh goodie, another striker!

I don't believe it ... Between them, Appleton and Ashton haven't got a fucking clue what they're doing

Re: Appleton OUT

After that result and interview, there really is no way back for him. He's finished as a manager.

Re: Well that was encouraging ...

If you're patient, you'll get your rewards. You need to understand we're building for the future, playing the right way. It takes time to get the right bodies in the building, with the right DNA and for the team to gel. You fans just don't get it

Re: TRANSFERS...

I'd assumed our DNA approach would be "Don't Need Anyone" following the last two games. However, it appears plan B means "Donkey Now Arrived"

Actually, it's probably a pragmatic and necessary option to get the job done.

Re: TRANSFERS...

New kid might be great, so might Roofe and Balmy. They could make a difference. However, the point is, we don't know, we and MApp really have no idea. So, they're a risk. This is no time for trialing potential talent. This is survival, a time to cut the crap and face up to reality. Hello, time to wa...

Re: TRANSFERS...

Spot on there, Dan. My thoughts exactly. The project's failed, regardless of season outcomes; over spent and underperformed.

Re: TRANSFERS...

Since when has signing random youth players, with potential, on loan, been the answer to a League 2 relegation battle?

Jointly, Ashton & Appleton are a liability to both OUFC and the Chairman's wealth.

Re: TRANSFERS...

Much like our season, a complete shambles. Ashton appears to be a big part of the problem, not just MApp

Re: The U's v Luton Town

At last, 4-4-2, proper full backs, decent wingers. Can we now bin the DNA shite and failed experiment. We've finally stumbled on a team that should see us clear of the relegation scrap. More of that seen in the last two games and we may have a basis for progress next season.

Re: #together

Very good point Myles, you're not wrong there, especially given MApp's "head coach" role which implies Ashton is responsible for transfers in/out.

Re: #together

And sadly, had Hunt, Newey and Raynes been in defence today I doubt we'd have lost. Rebuilding is fine, if it's being done by someone whom at least has a slightest clue. Appleton couldn't be doing a worse job and has not earned the right to continue. There's no point in allowing him more time only t...

Re: #together

I am genuinely concerned about our league status and existence of the club. I'm not a misery, or negative, merely concerned. Maybe unnecessarily, but I'm concerned. What I want is reassurance. What do I get ... THAT email from the chairman and the local rag telling me "boss Appleton frustrated ...
