Re: Poll

I voted for Slumdon to be promoted. Still living in hope that Wimbledon AFC will overtake MK Dons one day. They're in a play-off position at the moment I think? AFCW have lost a lot of goodwill in NonLeague circles recently over a player registration row. They were given a massive points deduction ...

Re:

&quotThis is tedious.&quot ....... But it is consistently tedious on here. Or do you think that it is inconsistently tedious and logged on in the hope of finding something remotely interesting for a change? I find it inconsistently consistently tedious on here, in as much as when it's tedio...

I don't see why Patterson and Smith won't work together, I always thought that traditionally it was the assistant manager who was the one who was &quotfriends&quot with the players and the manager who made (or appeared to make) all the harder, who to play/shout at, decisions. I didn't go, bu...

I'd have much preferred to see this happen at the end of the season but as someone else said, it's probably been a year for North/Awford so maybe their contracts were up. I'm not a big fan of managerial upheaval at any stage during the season but I suppose at least the manager is the same and Patter...

I've gone for 74, things often go a bit weird in the last few games of the season.

Re:

Look at yesterday as a one off and you'll all feel better. I repeat. The wind killed yesterday as a spectacle. It's not as simple as play ball to feet and you'll avoid wind being a factor. But it was not a one off was it. The wind has often been a telling factor since we moved to Minchery &amp w...

I thought that at the time too Boris (I may even have posted it here), I didn't think there was any way Marvin was offside and 3-1 would have been game over. I think with that and the possible Quinn foul before the goal it's fair to say we didn't have the rub of the green with the refereeing decisio...

Re:

Can anybody actually say what formation we were playing at the start of the game? I certainly can't! With 3 centre-halfs and, nominally. two wing-backs, it suggested 5-3-2, but Yemi and Burge were clearly playing wide with Zebedee in the middle, so 5-4-1? Or was it a lopside 5-3-2/4-4-2 amalgum wit...

I watched this on the tv, I didn't think it was as great a game as others have indicated here (I guess this is the atmosphere/live game discussion we had after halifax), the first half was pretty poor, D&ampR looked to be coasting really. The 3-4-3 failed miserably and our midfield was totally s...

We don't actually know if it was cricket related yet, although that seems the likeliest explanation. Assuming it is then they probably should have called it off, but like others I am still following it anyway.

If we do finish 2nd then that's a pretty good season by most standards. I dunno if Smith is less sharp than he was 20 years ago, possibly I guess, but I think it's difficult to compare back, especially when 20 years ago we were 3/4 divisions higher so I try not to. On that basis I reckon Smith has d...

I'm pretty sure it wasn't the atmosphere that made it better, the crowd was sparse, quiet and freezing.

It's possibly just the inherent optimism/stupidity of someone who travelled an hour and paid to get in to see a game he could easily have watched from the warmth and comfort of his own sofa!

As one of the unfortunates who actually went, I didn't think it was the worst game in the world but maybe that's because from behind the goal you can't see as much. There's been far worse this season anyway. The team certainly competed throughout, which hasn't always been the case but lacked quality...

Re:

I don't suppose any of you lot who went to Altrincham (and who have still steadfastly refused to provide the Rage Online audience with anything resembling a match report) have a spare programme they'd be able to sell me? My usual source was unable to get me one. I've got one Boris, its not in great...

Re:

Don't take the minnows tag too seriously. Some of these sides, including Canada have some very good players, including Aussie Shield and English County players. Yes we should beat them, and we did, but don't expect a roll over every time. In fairness, I suspect the bowlers took it a little too easy...
