I believe he suffered a pretty serious injury a couple of weeks ago so it'll be interesting to see if anyone will sign him before the start of the season.

Re: Where are they now?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36246949 Wes Burns called up to Wales' 29 man training squad ahead of Euro 2016! He finished his loan spell at Oxford last season when Patrick Hoban took his place in the team...

Re: Let's face it...

I came away from Rodney Parade last night feeling very deflated. Despite creating the occasional chance I felt the team looked shot to bits. The two midfielders looked like shadows of their former selves, the wide players tried but ultimately aren't really wide players. The defence wasn't awful but ...

Congratulations also to our best manager of recent times ... If any still doubts what he could have done given a brand new pitch with no rugby on it and support in the transfer window you just need to look up the road. It's on sky sports over here so I'd imagine it will be on some website or another.

Re: Noton

I think we need to stop making statements to the effect of "ah never mind, we're gonna go up this season anyway". Lose on Saturday and promotion is out of our hands, having felt like we had a big cushion a couple of weeks ago. The one assumption I think we sadly must make is that making 12...

Re: Transfer news

And a rather different type of rumour about Appleton: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-united-want-oxford-manager-7279074? Nicky Butt appointed Man Utd's academy manager , confirming Appleton isn't on his way back to Old Trafford. I wonder if there was any substance to that st...

Re: Dip?

Whatever happened to Jamie Ashdown and Ryan Clarke? Well quite. Appleton and the people around him have made mostly brilliant calls on player recruitment/retention, but I wonder if even they are now ruing the Ryan Clarke decision. I think he still had another season in him at this level. I thought ...

Re: Missing piece of the jigsaw

COD seems to be going backwards and seems to have been distracted by thoughts of a move (or, more likely, the wages he might get). This is a somewhat understandable conclusion that I expected some people to come to as I watched O'Dowda have his second poor game in succession yesterday, but I think ...

Interpretation 1: he is happy at United, but would leave if remuneration was huge. Interpretation 2: enough clubs have been reported as scouting him that he (and/or his dad) believes someone will offer this much in order to get him. Interpretation 2a: as above, but qualified by their total lack of ...
