Re: Going Down??

There was another season post-Tranmere that we flirted with relegation. I think it might have been 1992-93. I remember a 1-0 win at Oakwell that pretty much confirmed our survival. Looking back at the season history, we must then have finished fairly strongly as the record says we finished 14th.

And the added bonus of Franchise being effectively relegated. Hope Wimbledon stay up.

Re: Going Down??

Tonight I can only really see home wins for Rochdale and Oldham. I would consider it a successful evening if just one of them failed to win.

Re: Going Down??

Yeah, if you look at the predicted table and change their prediction of us drawing with Rochdale into a loss for us, then we survive on goal difference. All it would then take is a tonking by Blackburn to send us down. And that's with tweaking only the results in our games, and no others.

Re: What constitutes acceptable?

I'd be surprised if Hall left, but the other 3 are definitely uncertain to be with us next season. I didn't answer the original question, but would have been happy with mid-table. A little disappointed with how this season panned out, but relieved that we're (just about) safe now. Given we sacked ou...

Re: Going Down??

Phew, major result yesterday (and one of the tensest second halves I've ever sat through.) Bookies now have us at 33/1 against going down, though tbh if we lost at home to Rochdale, it wouldn't take *that* unlikely a set of results for us to finish 21st. A draw should be enough though.

Re: Going Down??

This prediction table still has us staying up. (I first checked it before the Fleetwood game and it had evidently predicted a draw in that, as we now have one fewer point predicted.) https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/league-one/league-table/predicted I still fear the worst, but then I generally do ...

Re: Going Down??

Sacking a manager (whoever they are) when you are in the upper half of the table is a very "modern football" thing to do, and it's also bloody stupid, unless they have committed a major transgression (and winding up some of our less patient fans with a shushing gesture does not count). It ...

Re: Going Down??

I've been watching the prices - in the last week we've moved from 12-1 against going down to 5-1. I actually suspect it's more likely than that latter price suggests. I'm worried.

Re: Big pile of poo-sbury (not really)

Yeah, Oldham, Fleetwood and Rochdale are the crucial games now, I feel. Six points from those should hopefully just about do it. Anything less, and the other games look pretty tough...

Yeah, they need to sort this out. It just feels like it's drifting.

Re: Who do you want next?

I seem to recall Clotet being regarded as one of the country's "most promising coaches" too - not sure we're looking for a "coach" - we're looking for a manager.
