Re: Notts to be sniffed at

yes, that was a LOT of fun. this had shades of crawley away in our conference promotion season for me - a win whose manner makes you believe it might be your season. high balls into the box - well, notts county were the first team that really demonstrated to me our weakness there. again, we had to c...

Re: OXFORD v Plymouth Argyle

I've been really impressed by what I've seen so far this season. I think Sercombe is the outstanding player in an otherwise really solid looking team. yes, sercombe motm. again. think you're a little unfair on the side to just describe them as solid. our defence i would say is solid. but a team wit...

Re: Leyton Orient v The U's

good result, good performance, good day out. a draw away to a team that's started well and is up there - i think we have to be happy with that, despite the fact that at a quarter to five it didn't feel like that. it was a good performance i thought - we took a while to find our feet, and a better te...

Re: Cider pressing

agreed; another enjoyable game. a bit less nervy for me than the notts county game, I felt we were more in control with a one-goal advantage, or perhaps i'm just starting to develop a bit of faith in the current oxford squad. both county and yeovil I suspect are okay teams - I think our energetic ga...

Re: Best since Wembley

my first game this season and i thoroughly enjoyed it. terrific to see us attack with such verve! i had o'dowda for man of the match just for his impact on the game, but hylton was also key in not allowing county any respite. my only gripe is the chances we missed was verging on the ridiculous, but ...

Re: Adams Out!

I think we are all agreed on this, but I'm not sure I quite see how we have spent so much. So is it that we contracted good players for the right money, who then did not play as well as they should have done - or that we contracted ordinary players for good money? Or a bit of both? Because, if I'm ...

Re: Adams Out!

the problem with appleton this season as far as i'm concerned is the failure to deliver results in line with the expenditure on players - and that given all this expenditure we were at at least one point in serious danger of relegation. now I've missed the encouraging away performances so perhaps my...

Re: Ten games to go

well, we made some chances and I enjoyed the first half. argyle stepped things up in the second half, but I thought we were lucky to take a point in the end -it felt like a late plymouth winner was on the cards to me. I suppose you might say in the context of a better season, that's the sort of game...

Re: OxVox AGM: this Saturday

Aren't you going to at least tell Us who the new Chair is, let alone explain the comments by MS regarding the ground situation? well if you heard the comments then you knew the answer to your first question, and i'm not sure why you'd ask the second, as it was clear they were mark's personal views ...

OxVox AGM: this Saturday

A reminder email has just gone round to OxVox members about the AGM. The website is down, and I doubt we'll be able to get it up again before Saturday, so just wanted to flag this up for any members on here in case the email's missed you for any reason. We start at 1.30pm ahead of the Plymouth game,...

Re: Mansfield at home.

the difference for me was that this was a game where we converted dominance into goals, and made the game comfortable. macdonald may have got man of the match, but i think mullins is in with a good shout of that for his work in that half hour period where the game was even and a real scrap. but once...

Re: Consistency

Also is this really how a supporters group should work - (unofficially?) backing a takeover without the knowledge of its membership last year, and making secret contingency plans now? The point is - if you're going to run a supporters group or a fan club everything must be open and democratically a...

Re: OxVox. Remember them?

Only a certain amount of detail about those discussions has been made public at this stage Ty. Much of what’s come out of discussions with the Councils is covered in the article I linked to. In my view, moving ground cuts what I think has become a Gordian knot for us as tenants at the Kassam. I thin...

Re: OxVox. Remember them?

Ty, following the RtB OxVox was involved in discussions with the Club, Councils, and FK about the potential acquisition of the Stadium and establishing the feasability and benefits of moving ground. Tom, the Council(s) have never had a submitted proposal to be ready to move on: what is a matter of p...
