Re: Tykes thumping
Blimey, where to start? Well as far I can tell, that was the worst opening day defeat by an Oxford United side ever. Only 2 players deserve any credit. Simon Eastwood, and Rob Hall and he only played the last quarter of the game. I wasn't expecting a win. Barnsley clearly have double our crowds and ...

Re: New signings
I take the point about over-promising, but there has to be a little leeway here and there. Tomorrow (Wednesday) I think we may see up to 3 new names at the club. Sam Smith (from Reading) Jamie Mackie (from QPR) Marcus Brown (from West Ham) Well the timescale was a bit out, but we have now seen two ...

Re: Stadium matters
If you smell bacon and spot pink flapping wings on an oinking animal overhead, that can only mean one thing.

Re: Where are they now?
I see Patrick Hoban has failed at each UK club he has played for since leaving us, but has since gone back to Dundalk and is scoring for fun again. I guess we can all surmise what that says about the standard of the League of Ireland.

Re: Where eagles dare
I'm a big fan of Lopez. And only 16! I hope he isn't rushed in too quickly, but I think as he develops he will become a devastating player. Obika's pre-season scoring flatters to deceive. His goal at Aldershot was more a case of the ball rebounding off him than him scoring (although at least he was ...

The Fail seems to be dating that story 16 July. Today is 17 July. Give KR a chance!

Re: New signings
The performance at Court Place Farm was pretty good. Despite scoring a couple, Obika did miss some gilt edged chances. In particular he had 2 or 3 one on ones with the keeper and failed miserably with each one. Most players did well and we drove the game forwards in a manner that was pleasing on the...

Re: Retained list
I assume Ricardinho isn't coming back.
His details have been removed from the 1st team squad on the official site and he hasn't been on the Ireland trip.

Re: New signings
Its quality strikers that we need, not ageing full backs with no pace.
Disappointing to lose both Ledson and Rothwell. Unsurprising but disappointing nonetheless.

Re: Harry Kane vs Rob Duffy
For me VAR is not the problem. The way VAR is being used is the problem. It works in cricket for several reasons. Captains (and only captains) can request its use but if they get it wrong a couple of times, they lose the right to appeal, so that stops excessive usage. It can also be used by on field...

Re: Harry Kane vs Rob Duffy
I've really enjoyed the competition so far. Sure Tunisia and Panama are weak sides, and in both cases, they would make Chopper Harris blush for their tactics. Good to see a ref finally get on top of the rugby style tackles England have had to suffer. Going forward, England look very good. We create ...

Re: Predictions
I had a bad feeling ahead of last season that we wouldn't do too well. Uncertainties over Eales, Appleton leaving, several big name players departed. Despite my earlier reservations about Tiger, I'm beginning to warm to him. I suspect he is a much more careful owner than we've had for a while, but ...

Re: Predictions
Making predictions is a mug's game... so here goes. I don't share OY's optimism. Not one bit. Karl Robinson talks a good game, and is clearly competent, but I don't think he's as good as many fans think. He's also not (so far, at least) signed players who immediately make me think he can impr...
