Re: Football League Trophy
I can see merits in all of the different arguments put forward here. Midweek games are a no-no for me, so my non-attendance so far is independent of whether I would have joined in the boycott. If we get to Wembley, I shall go. There will be plenty who will do likewise. There will also be plenty who...

Re: Football League Trophy
I love my club too, and that's why I'm boycotting. Realistically, being a 5 game a season exile, that'll only make any (small) difference if we actually get to Wembley. The direction of travel in football is towards ever greater centralisation of capital into fewer clubs with bigger squads. And that...

Re: Chairman's Programme Notes v Scunthorpe
I wonder if anyone's been able to pop into the KasStad to look at the housing development plans? I feel that if you want to know what's really going on, it's there that you'll get some real clues.

Re: Chairman's Programme Notes v Scunthorpe
In addition, an HoT shows that all parties have an agreed way to a deal, subject to detail. That's I think the crux of the matter. I doubt there is any shared agreement about just how a deal may be done, and one could speculate endlessly about why that might be. On the other hand, the idea that DE ...

Re: NEW SIGNINGS
Great signing. If he finds his feet quickly in first team football, we'd have a real chance at the play-offs.

Re: Chairman's Programme Notes v Scunthorpe
Looks like some more information on what OCC have planned for the stadium and surrounding areas. Interesting too that these plans are being displayed at the Kas Stad. http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/15033865.Masterplan_for___39_South_Oxford_science_village__39__revealed_ahead_of_exhibition/?ref=mrb...

Re: Chairman's Programme Notes v Scunthorpe
Don't take this as me being rude Tom, but I don't think you know what anyone else knows. You only know what they are prepared to tell you, whether that be OxVox, or DE, or individuals. No rudeness taken :) When did this forum become so polite? And I agree, what's interesting is what's not being sai...

Re: Chairman's Programme Notes v Scunthorpe
There should be no reason why a Heads of Terms cannot be agreed within a couple of weeks, so this should have been completed months ago. The Heads is only an outline agreement and statement of intent, so does not require much in the way of detail. What is being sold, sale price, parties to the agre...

Re: Chairman's Programme Notes v Scunthorpe
I read that as 'doing a Coventry' and pissing off to Northampton for a couple of seasons, perhaps having prepared a legal case that Stadco isn't fulfilling the terms of the license (rental agreement).Radley Rambler wrote:
Also for the first time that I can recall it makes reference to finding an alternative venue.

Re: Chairman's Programme Notes v Scunthorpe
For what it's worth, my suspicion is that there's a very lucrative potential real estate deal at the heart of this. This would form: for the City Council, the centre piece of its public-private housing strategy in the South Oxford area, along with a transport link deal with Chiltern Trains to re-ope...

Re: Chairman's Programme Notes v Scunthorpe
If he wants to do this and OxVox have the means to buy, whats the hold up and what is the realistic timescale?[/i] What makes people think that OxVOx, a voluntary organisation with funds derived from a couple of hundred mostly working class fans paying subscriptions, has more means to buy a stadium...

Re: Chairman's Programme Notes v Scunthorpe
Actually, having a look at the latest accounts, which cover the period up to June 2015, 'we' owe far much more to Ian Lenagan (£5.3m) than to Daryl Eales (£3.2m). I wonder if that's still the case since Lenagan's resignation as Director last summer?

Re: Chairman's Programme Notes v Scunthorpe
At the risk of sounding 'negative' (but actually trying to establish the facts), am I right in thinking that the bulk of this 'investment' (which appears to be more running costs than capital expenditure) is in the form of interest-free loans from DE to OUFC, loans which he could recall at any time ...
Re: Flags
I'm in total agreement on the flag issue. The ultras make going to home matches worthwhile. I hope the club aren't can accommodate what they do.
