Re: Ched Evans

If Oxford only signed footballers of decent morale standing we would struggle to get a team out every week. He has played for 3 teams since the incident - I find it a little bizarre that Oxford are expected to somehow act as jury and judge - if the courts deem that he's free to carry on earning a li...

Re: Chris Wilder

To be fair to IL and as seen in the very defensive nature of the press release confirming that Wilder was staying on as manager I think he was just reacting to complaints from our fans that it was time for Wilder to go. What it meant was that Wilder had no guarantees in Jan that he would have a cont...

Re: Chris Wilder

I thought by saying it was right for the club to have left us is essentially the same as saying you are glad he left us - if not my apologies. At the time the owners were looking to sell (and therefore not backing him in the transfer window despite us being in the play offs) and the fans were on his...

Re: Robbed versus Rovers

Fair enough - although I think Holmes was brought in to be a senior first team starter, whereas Napa was not ready for this (IMO). Don;t mind Napa being in and around the squad and being given 30 minutes here and there to see how he does (which Robbo did last season) but I don't think he's ready for...

Re: Robbed versus Rovers

i do think Mr Exile that to take the fact that KR has given 17 year old Jones his debut and has been bigging him and use this against him to say he needs to give young players more of a chance is very harsh. His record here is actually really good. Shandon Baptiste was a regular earlier this season ...

Re: Chris Wilder

It would appear that despite all the overwhelming evidence to the contrary Wilder is still undervalued by our fans - right time to leave us what utter tosh! We were in the play offs when he left us, we then tumbled out of them very quickly and it took us a further season before Appleton got things s...

Re: 10 is the magic number

Nice write up KY, although very harsh on Nelson I thought, for me he was a stand out player yesterday, marshalled things at the back (especially when Dickie got injured) and got on the end of a lot of crosses into the box. When you consider the inexperience of the rest of the back 5 in the last 30 m...

Re: Safety in numbers

Given the injuries we have had this season I think a top half finish would be above par, but recognise I may be alone in this view. I am rarely in the camp of sacking managers, especially ones which are showing marked improvements and ones which like playing passing attacking football. The fact he h...

Re: Sent to Coventry

I thought it was a classic away performance and a point would have been a fair result but to come away with all 3 was brilliant and looking at our corner count not undeserved. Nelson was my motm by a mile, dealt with everything at the back and then got the winning goal. Going to really miss him next...

Re: Chaos

Actually fair play to the officials here. The wording in the rulebook is at best ambiguous and as such I am not surprised they weren't 100% aware of what the rule was (depending on what they were checking - I assume not whether the ball had crossed the line as no point in consulting the other lino i...

Re: What a let down

I long gave up on our fans ability to assess the skills (or lack of) for a manager when a majority (including on this forum) were quite happy to see the back of Wilder - everything he has done since has shown this to be bonkers. Clotet had us about 3 points from the play offs last season and pretty...

Re: Why are the bookies so confident...

I'll be very surprised if we get relegated. We have a good enough team, injury woes seemingly behind us (we had a very strong bench on Sat) and a reasonable run of fixtures if we can't stay up then something will have gone badly wrong. With a couple of goals behind him, both good poachers goals whic...

Re: Which would you choose?

Perhaps if we were in a position in the table where our playing budget indicates it should be we would be less concerned about Tiger, especially given the investment in the U23 and a proper training ground. Kassam made it impossible for us to thrive by not investing in the team/youth set up and stru...
