One of those cases where you can obviously look at it on two ways. On the one hand, we're paying Slumdon money from the 12th Man Fund to take an out-of-favour troublemaker who's lacking match fitness off their books who may potentially act as a spy in the leadup to the derby match next month (though...

January Signings

Hello all, this transfer window seems to have been more focused on shipping players out than on bringing them in, but nonetheless I have written a few player profiles as an introduction to our new signings. Hope you find it useful. http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46blogspot&#46com/2012/0...

First Oxford Match

I haven't posted about this on here so you may not be aware of this but over the last couple of weeks I've been collecting fans' recollections of their first OUFC match on my blog (links below). http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46blogspot&#46com/2012/01/my-first-oxford-match&#46html h...

I suspect many footballers have struggled with depression after retirement, but the nature of the game led them to keep it secret. Awful for Dean Windass and the other football players who've had to suffer with it, but I do at least see it as a positive step that increasing numbers of players are pr...

Re:

Am certainly not ITK, however believe that Crocombe is highly regarded and will be involved against Crewe. Well, that's certainly more ITK than I am any more! Apart from Marsh and Crocombe, are there any others doing particularly well this season - the captain tends to feature well in reports doesn...

I think the the story was heavily sensationalised in the Oxford Mail and Oxford City could have been justified in keeping him if they had wanted to. It's already been posted, but the situation is not dissimilar to the Sam Deering incident a few years ago or the racism rows in the Premier League at t...

I remember Bobby Ford doing it at the Manor, possibly against Sheffield United?

The programme said 4-4-2 but it looked more like a 4-5-1 with Tyrone Marsh as a lone striker, fellow striker Jermain Udunaga played quite a bit deeper and tended to create more chances than he got on the end of.

FA Youth Cup

I've written a match report on the youth team match against Bolton last night. http&#58//theboysfromupthehill&#46blogspot&#46com/2011/12/youth-team-unlucky-to-lose-out&#46html Did anyone else from here go? I thought it was a very entertaining match and I was pleasantly surprised at t...

Reflections on a Free Weekend

I've written a little rambling thing examining a few of our recent problems and how we might solve them, Although it's not great that we have no football to watch this weekend, I think there are several reasons why it may be good for the team to have a break this weekend. http&#58//theboysfromup...

Fantastic news about Robbie, and I think if we can get him for the rest of the season he could be the final ingredient required to make us automatic promotion contenders.
