Thanks for reminding me about Green. The player we were furious at losing.

I see he has scored 3 goals this year alongside Tim Sills (a player no one regreted the passing off) who has scored 14.

Just shows what we really know doesn't it.

Re:

Sappleton ... a legend in the making. Indeed! Already a legend in my mind for missing that one-on-one. Up there with Duffy vs Exeter. Funny. I remember a horrible afternoon at Pompey when our centre forward failed to score from 3 clear cut one-on-ones against the Pompey keeper. Now what was his nam...

Both myself and my neighbour (some chap from Thame, bit common but ok  ) both commented that we thought it was the best ref we had seen in the Conference. Alty seemed to play with 'conmmittment' and were solid in the tackle. As others have said though, this time it didn't rattle us. I did think...

I think that statement is a gimme. A question in the back of my mind is 'how difficult is it for a Northern based manager to transfer to a Southern team'? It is all very well knowing every decent non league player within spitting distance of the Pennines but would he be able to persuade them to move...

The rumours seem to very quiet this time.

The cynic in me thinks that this 'recruitment process' isn't sorting out the excellence of the candidates to choose from, but actually trawling through the applications trying to find someone who will accept the wages and budget.

The Dirty Dozen

According to the radio last night Kelvin has narrowed the list to 12 candidates.

Would love a poll telling us who they are and letting us vote. We could have our own X Factor, where we get down to two and Jim can choose which one to discard.

You all know which way I voted.

However I would be delighted if Rosenior got the job.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Gilly gets it. Personally I would be very disappointed with that decision.

I like the way the ref was clearly demonstrative to the players and the crowd of her decisions and the fact she made great efforts to communicate properly to the players. I haven't seen a replay of the penalty but at the time she clearly felt that Constable had 'manufactured' the penalty but found h...

Just to add to the debate, seeing as I bothered to attend my second game of the season. I arrived ten minutes before kickoff, and following Mally's advice I parked in the West car park right next to fence. I queued for less than 30 seconds to buy a ticket (though talking cricket to Gilo took longer)...

Kemp's arrogance made him the worst I can recall.

He thought he was brilliant, had never achieved anything before, was always quick to blame everybody else and never showed any sign of really caring.

Haven't seen Delap throw but Challinor seemed to throw predominantly with his right hand, which was at back of ball and his left was purely used for direction. As for POU question about why! Apparently Stoke had ten players over 6 foot tall on the pitch against Arsenal. So it isn't only the delivere...

I will use this thread, if I may, to raise another subject. I see Mike Newell is back in football management. What is the consensus on Mike Newell. Is he the hero who stood up and counted against corruption and treated shockingly for doing so.. or a mug who got what he deserved? Unfortunately (follo...
