Re: Are Oxford brogues better than Eastend bovver boots?

Quid: how many will Oxford score? (1 point per goal) Bottle: how many will Charlton score? (2 points per goal) Carpet: how many yellow cards will be given to Oxford? (1 point per card, 2 yellows to same player counts 2) Rouf: who will win the first half or will it be drawn? (3 points for win, 1 for...

Re: Are Oxford brogues better than Eastend bovver boots?

Is Charlton "East End"? Surely it's Sarf of the river? Q. Two B. Two C. Three R. Charlton lead C. Oxford win T. OK this is where the scoring gets interesting since clearly you get no points for guessing zero! So, um, 1. TB: 6,888 Scoring query: I assume you only get points if you are righ...

A first cascade for the season. Fence 1: will Oxford win in normal time*? Fence 2: Will there be more than two goal in normal time? Fence 3. Will Taylor score? Fence 4: Will there be a penalty kick awarded (in normal time)? Fence 5 Will there be a red card? TB: Time of first goal in match (if equid...

Re: Cambridge

Definitely 2 points dropped. It was a natural reaction for Sykes to try to clear the ball, but players need to be aware of their opponents positions, and an attacking player running through will find is easy to locate a defender’s body to fall over. Even so, we had 2 very good shouts for penalties a...

Re: Amber ambulatory assets

We're back - let's see if we can limp through another season. Simple format to start with - 1 point per correct answer: Entries in by 13.30 on Saturday please. 1) How many players will get game time for Oxford who did not play for us last season? 2) How many yellow cards will Oxford receive (straig...

Re: New signings

A draw will be just about acceptable, but Cambridge are one of the favourites for relegation, so I hope we set a standard of what is to come.

Re: New signings

Ah that explains it. I can remember the sending off, but I remember it from behind the goal, and I’ve only ever seen 1 game at the Kassam from behind the goal, which wasn’t that one. And I remember the last game before relegation at home to Orient, which I watched from my usual SSU seat and stayed t...

Re: New signings

I kind of agree about Williams. First time with us, he was exceptionally quick and used his pace well to get past defenders. When I’ve seen him against us more recently, the pace doesn’t seem so exceptional, but presumably that will have been replaced by experience. Wasn’t it Williams that got sent ...

Re: Season Over?

KY sums it up pretty well, although I would add a couple of comments. Simms was excellent for Blackpool, but he showed up two important weaknesses in our back line. Atkinson can be turned quite easily, and Moore has a lack of pace. That’s not being critical of either, as both have had superb seasons...

Re: Season Over?

Another annoying thing. On the iFollow commentary after the end of our first half they switched to the Pompey commentary, and then cut-it if off for the ifollow half time adverts. Then at the end of the match there is the mini-game of iFollow switching off and then switching onto Radio Oxford onlin...

Re: Season Over?

Me 2 movement. I was wrong! I was sure 74 points wouldn't be enough. Even at half time I expected Pompey to steam roller Accy. What a great end to the regular league programme. Shame we'll have to play Blackpool, as they are the only side with anything like our recent form. But hey, who the hell am ...

Is Shrewd play enough?

Good result and overall performance, but how many times have we conceded in a crowded box this season. I wasn’t convinced 74 points would be enough, and sadly I think that may come to pass. Pompey effectively need to score the same or more points from their 2 remaining games, than we get from our 1....
