Re: How Do We Stop The Rot?

Back to basics? Absolutely GY, including putting both fullbacks on the posts at corners, something I think we were all told to do at primary school.

And not capitulate after conceding a soft goal. That was truly pathetic, and I'm extremely relieved that work will prevent me coming again this season.

Re: Don't normally go to away games

Here's another thing that bothers me at the moment: Looking back at the last, say, five years, are there any players that have joined Oxford, improved under the management / coaching here, and then gone on to - or look likely to - succeed further up the ladder? Because I can't think of one (I was ma...

Re: TIME FOR A CLEAROUT

First visit this season (I live away from Oxford these days and normally work on Saturdays so can't get to the KasStad much any more). Hugely disappointed, I thought Rovers were generally the better side of the two, their midfield hunted in packs and completely obliterated ours, they played to a pat...

Re: The Fat Lady

And in-between there was the vital 2-1 win at Crewe when the away end was full two hours before kick off when a minor miracle was needed. That’s the closest I can offer to your statistical challenge. Ah yes, I remember the chants of &quotWe can see you sneaking in&quot as the first few home...

Re: Hopefully someone does something that gets us up and run

I cannot think of many players who have improved as players whilst at Oxford over the past 3 years I absolutely agree with this the only one who has definitely improved is Jake Wright, who I expect to leave for a club higher up the ladder in the summer (even if I don't want him to). Lack of player ...

One of the even better things about that table is that we're not on it. :)

However annoying this year is, I'll never forget the four years of purgatory that was our conference adventure.

I see he's started an Oxford United fan recruitment campaign also (apologies for making you look at the Torygraph): http&#58//www&#46telegraph&#46co&#46uk/sport/football/teams/swindon-town/9518621/Paolo-Di-Canio-hits-back-at-Swindon-Town-fans-in-Wes-Foderingham-row&#46html Never ...

A lot to like about today. Rendell made a fundamental difference when he came on, holding the ball and giving the fullbacks time to get down the wings and get crosses in. Hope we sign him on a permanent deal, he may not get 20 a season but he's the best I've seen in that central role in the 4-3-3, a...

I thought Chapman was doing OK without being spectacular and was disappointed he was substituted. Oli Johnson had a good 60 minutes but from then on looked dead on his feet and I would definitely have taken him off before Chapman. I just thought we went defensive way too early, invited AFCW onto us ...

Oh well, if you're talking about favourite goal, then Joey's against Slumdon in the 3-0. By a country mile.

Peter Rhoades-Brown v Chelsea Oct 1985 - Volleyed a swinging diagonal ball from Hebberd with such ferocity that had the net not been in the way it would probably have cleared the Cuckoo Lane end AND the JR behind it. Gorgeous.

I was really excited when we signed Mitchell Cole in the summer, I'm a big fan of good wing play (having spent my formative years enjoying the talents of Brocky, Rosie, Langie and the like), and was looking forward to seeing him play. I was therefore disappointed and somewhat frustrated to see him s...

I can honestly say that I would still have been fairly happy having seen a performance like that even if we hadn't scored the goals. But to actually get what we so richly deserved as well... sweeeeeeet. :D Best performance for ages. Not a single weak link in the side, everyone played their part. Lov...
