Wilder as a Blade
We've had an interesting piece from a Sheffield United blogger reflecting on Wilder's time as a Blades player. http://theboysfromupthehill.blogspot.com/2011/11/wilder-at-blades.html A few things I find interesting about Wilder's Sheffield United career is that he stayed a...
Re:
You make it sound like Whing's being treated like a player that's gone from Oxford to s*****n and then scored a hatrick against us, which was celebrated by fly-kicking a disabled member of the family stand. I don't really rate Whing but I've never booed him, I've taken the piss out of him, but if I...

Whing
Just a short ramble about the much-maligned Andy Whing. It seems to me that he's come in for a lot of criticism, but with his positional flexibility and our injury problems it seems he could become an important squad player this season. http://theboysfromupthehill.blogspot.com/2...

Despite the old adage, football is not simply 'a results business'. We could have hired Westley and could possibly have gone on a similar trajectory as Stevenage, but we'd be doing it in front of crowds of 5000 and our footballing reputation in tatters (though our stock probably wasn't too high befo...

I don't think it was a mistake to let Midson go. Yes he's the league's top goalscorer at Wimbledon, but he wouldn't be if he was still here. I suspect he'd have had a similar season to the last one, in and out of the side, scoring irregularly and being loaned out. Well done to Wimbledon for getting ...

As Port Vale are visiting this weekend, I thought I'd take a look at someone who played for both clubs. It also provided me with a perfect excuse to watch all the Wembley videos again!

Agreed there are plenty of positives to take from Saturday. It made a nice, refreshing change not to be clinging on at the end and to actually feel comfortable.

Here's another of those depressing Football 365 tables: http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D3/ptslost.html Why? If only we were an Aldershot, Port Vale or Torquay. But ..... we are above all 3 in the League so we must be doing something else right, like getting the lea...

Here's another of those depressing Football 365 tables: http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D3/ptslost.html Why? I hadn't noticed that table, it would have been perfect for my article! This is what we need to deal with most, the home form is a symptom of not being able ...
Home form
With our home form looking a bit sad, with only one win and four draws from our first five games, I thought I'd have a look at why results have been a little bit on the poor side. http://theboysfromupthehill.blogspot.com/2011/09/trouble-at-home.html Despite all the doom a...

The Unusually Intertwined Histories of Oxford and Accrington
Hello all, just thought I'd post up a link to a new article on TBFUTH, about probably the most significant event in the club's history and the role of Accrington Stanley in it. I expect most of you are pretty familiar with the story, but you might like to re-read it anyway. http://theboysfrom...

Getting back to the matter in hand, I'll ry to put a few lucid thoughts together BFUTH if I get a chance to read the whole blog. That's if grumpy sensitive Colin doesn't mind of course... That's great. If you do find the time just PM me or email me about it (tbfuth@hotmail.co.uk), always happ...
