Re: Appleton in!

Pellegrini seems to be the favoured candidate at the moment. Appleton way down in the betting - wonder if that'll change?

Apparently appointed manager on a temporary/interim basis.

Re: Johnson to Boro?

If we do get 2.5 million for him, we'd be bonkers not to take it.

Cheltenham

Judging by that, we need an entirely new defence. Just horrible defensively (though some good attacking play). I left at 90 minutes, because I could see there was only one side winning it from there...

Re: New signings

We seem to be signing an awful lot of 30+ players. Perhaps we can make a profit on them when they peak at 35?

He had been nursing a tight quad, apparently. (https://twitter.com/OUFCOfficial/status ... 8068426752)

Jeez, we really need to get knocked out of this early this time.

Re: Pep Clotet

I think his name is pronounced pretty much as it's spelt for English-speakers (i.e. the final 'T' is not silent)

Re: Pep Clotet

Good news. He's the one I (with my extremely limited amount of information) would have chosen from the list of contenders.

Re: The Runners and Riders...

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink an early favourite with the bookies, it seems. Won the fourth division title with Burton, and took them to the top of our division. Did a bit more averagely at QPR. I can't remember what kind of football his teams played.

Re: Fixtures

I like to go to the first and last games - pleased it's two grounds I still have to tick off. Otherwise indeed nothing to shout about, but then again I'm feeling pretty underwhelmed about the prospect of the coming season now anyway.

Re: Appleton IN

I was already fairly worried about this season from the talk behind the scenes before this Appleton news. I think of this as one of the symptoms rather than the cause of things going wrong. Really get the feeling the whole "project" is going tits-up. Really hope I'm wrong.

Re: League Cup Draw

Isn't it just that we finished high enough to now be one of the 'top' sides in the first round? (Or has something else changed, of which I'm not aware?)
